SARDINE SANDWICHES Ingredients: 1 can of sardine/mackerel in tomato sauce 1 loaf of bread Margarine/butter 1 lime 1 red chili, chopped 1 yellow onion chopped 1 cucumber, sliced Salt and pepper to taste Mayonnaise Sardine sandwich - a popular sandwich in Malaysia. It is is easy to make and very nutritious as well, as we know sardine is a good source of calcium, protein, iron and rich in omega-3 fatty acids. Method: 1. In a bowl, mash the sardine in tomato sauce with a fork in a bowl. Remove the bones if you like, but if you mash the bones well, it’s edible. 2. Add chopped yellow onions and chillies (quantity as you prefer), and squeeze some lime juice into the mixture and add come salt and pepper to taste. 3. Mix them all up. 4. On the cutting board, spread two pieces of bread with butter. Spread one side with mashed sardine and cover with another piece. You can cut the edges off or keep it, whatever you fancy. 5. If you’re a cheese lover, you can add some mozzarella or cheddar cheese to get the ‘pizza-like’ texture.

Sardine sandwich - a popular sandwich in Malaysia. It is is easy to make and very nutritious as well, as we know sardine is a good source of calcium, protein, iron and rich in omega-3 fatty acids.

Method:1. In a bowl, mash the sardine in tomato sauce with a fork in a bowl. Remove the bones if you like, but if you mash the bones well, its edible. 2. Add chopped yellow onions and chillies (quantity as you prefer), and squeeze some lime juice into the mixture and add come salt and pepper to taste.3. Mix them all up. 4. If youre a cheese lover, you can add some mozzarella or cheddar cheese to get the pizza-like texture. 6. Then, cut into four little triangle sandwiches. 7. Serve at room-temperature or cold. You may also toast them to perfection by using sandwich maker 8. You may have it with coffee, tea or lemonade.9. You can cover the leftover with cling wrap and store in refrigerator.
