About our College

SARASWATHY LAW COLLEGE is situated at Olakkur, Villupuram district between 12 Kms from Tindivanam and 18 Kms from Melmaruvathur amidst an ambient Natural atmosphere . The very beginning was victory in a legal battle, which is a strong indication of success in all endeavours.

After a long legal battle which starts from 2008, our patience to establish a qualitative legal institute in the name of got succeed in the year 2018. It is one of the Educational Institution SARASWATHY LAW COLLEGEManaged by . The prime motto of establishing the institute is to provide VANNIYAR EDUCATIONAL TRUSTLegal Education with high quality and world class standard for all the aspiring students especially from the rural folk and downtrodden.

Spanning 11 years and braving political hindrance, and after knocking the doors of Supreme Court, SARASWATHY LAW COLLEGE was started with the approval of Bar Council of India and Affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai. The college was inaugurated on 21.9.2018 offering both 5 and 3 years law degree Courses.

Students are admitted from the counselling conducted by the Tamil Nadu Dr.Ambedkar Law University and also through Management quota for both the B.A., LL.B.,(5 years) and LL.B.,(3 years) law degree Course.

SARASWATHY LAW COLLEGE is empowered with a full-fledged Library having a collection of books by renowned Authors. A well-equipped e - Library is functioning to enable students to have first-hand information and access to the Judgments of Supreme court and High Courts.

HOSTEL: Separate Hostel fecilites available for both the Boys and Girls.

TRANSPORT:Comfortable transport facilities available for the students from the peripheral regions of Tindivanam.

3 Year LL.B. Degree Course

The duration of the 3 year LL.B., Degree Course offered in our college is three academic years. Non-semester system will be followed during the first academic year of the course and semester system will be followed from the second to final year of the course.

5 Year B.A., LL.B Degree Course

The duration of the 5 year B.A., LL.B., Degree Course offered in our college is five academic years.

Semester system will be followed from the beginning to till final year of the course.

APPLICATION FORM FOR ADMISSION:

The candidates desirous of applying for 3 year LL.B. Degree Course and 5 year B.A., LL.B. Degree course

can obtain the application form by paying the prescribed fee, from the Principal, Saraswathy Law College. This

application is applicable only to the management quota.

Those who are willing to apply for the above mentioned courses through the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar

Law University counselling may obtain an application from the same university or any of the government law

colleges in Tamil Nadu and also from our college. The candidate applying for counselling admission may apply

through online at the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University website www.tndalu.ac.in

MODE OF PAYMENT FOR APPLICATION FEE:

The candidates who obtain the application in person from the office of Saraswathy Law College can pay the

cash in hand to the same office.

The candidates can also download the Application form through our college website

The candidates who have downloaded the application form at our College website should submit the

application along with the Demand Draft in favour of “The Principal, Saraswathy Law College, Tindivanam” for a

sum of Rs. 1000/- only.

SUBMISSION OF DULY FILLED IN APPLICATION FORM:

The candidates desirous of applying for 3 year LL.B. Degree Course and 5 year B.A., LL.B. Degree course

through Management Quota, a duly filled in application form along with the requisite self-attested enclosures may

be submitted either in person or by post to “The Principal,

Saraswathy Law College,Olakkur, Tindivanam - 604 305.

ENCLOSURE FOR LL.B., (3 years) DEGREE COURSE:

The photocopies of the following certificates (duly self-attested) should be enclosed along with the

application form for admission.

a. Degree or provisional certificate along with consolidated mark statement / All individual Mark

Statements of the course must be enclosed. If a candidate has not obtained the degree or provisional certificate,

he/she should produce a certificate of pass in the qualifying examinations obtained from the Principal of the college

or Head of the department of the college where he/she is studied.

b. Copy of the S.S.L.C. mark sheet showing date of birth.

c. Copy of the H.Sc. mark sheet.

d. Recently obtained Community Certificate [for ST, Sc (Arunthathiar), SC (Others), BC (including BC

Muslims) and MBC/DNC candidates only].

Note:

In case of GRADES/ GPA under grading systems, it is the responsibility of the student to produce

equivalent percent of marks for each subject, duly certified by the Controller of Examinations/Principals of the

concerned Colleges/Heads of Departments or any other person duly authorised to certify.

In case of Integrated P.G. Degree like M.A.,/M.Sc.,/M.C.A., without undergoing Bachelors Degree, “all the

subjects in the qualifying examinations means and includes all the Main/Major and Allied/Ancillary subjects of all

the five years shall be taken for ranking purpose”.

ENCLOSURE FOR B.A.,LL.B., (5 years) DEGREE COURSE:

a. For the five year B.A, LL.B., degree course candidates, mark statements of H.S.C (10 + 12) or

equivalent examination, transfer certificate and contact certificate.

b. Copy of the Birth Certificate (or) S.S.L.C. mark sheet (proof of date of birth).

c. Recently obtained Community Certificate [for ST, Sc (Arunthathiar), SC (Others), BC (including BC

Muslims) and MBC/DNC candidates only].

Note:

Original certificates should not be enclosed with the application form. Only self-attested photocopies

should be enclosed.

MODE OF SELECTION:

Saraswathy Law College got an approval from the Tamil Nadu Dr.Ambedkar Law University and the

admission of candidates are based on counselling by the same University as well as management of the Saraswathy

Law College.

Counselling: Counselling Sessions will be held on different category of candidates eligible for selection in the

premises of the Tamil Nadu Dr.Ambedkar Law University, Chennai. The dates for counselling session will be

notified in the leading newspapers/media/University website.

Management: Those candidates who intend to join through management shall be intimated by the college. They

shall be called for personal interview on specified date.

ADMISSION:

Only the candidates who have attended and allotted through the counselling or by interview conducted by

management will be given admission in the college.

PROHIBITION OF RAGGING:

As per the directions of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India, UGC and Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Ragging Act

1997, Ragging is an offence and is banned in the college. Anyone indulging in ragging is liable to be punished and

may result in expulsion from the institution and / or rigorous imprisonment upto 3 years, and/or fine up to

Rs.25,000/-. Anti-Ragging Committee is functioning in our college to monitor the situation.
