DAY 1 Transfer in – Charles Darwin StationUpon your arrival at Baltra Airport, a person will be waiting to assist you and accompany you to the Hotel Silberstein in Puerto Ayora. This trip takes approximately 1 hour first you will get to the Itabaca channel where you will wait for the transportation that will take you to Puerto Ayora.

In the way, you will have the chance to visit the “Twin craters”, which were formed by a series of eruptions when the islands were still active. Guests should pay special attention to the changing environment that surrounds them. You will see everything from arid red and rocky ground in the North, to green and vivid nature in the highlands towards the South.

In the afternoon a guide will accompany you to the visit of the Charles Darwin Research Station, home of the famous and centenary turtle “El Solitario George”, originally from the Pinta Island that died in June 2012. The station has an interpretation center it tells the origin of the islands and several sites where they show their programs for the conservation of species in Galapagos. In the afternoon you can enjoy and relax in the hotel, in the middle of a garden full of different types of plants and have a nice moment in the pool.

DAY 2 Biking Cerro Mesa – Kayak GarrapateroThis morning you will enjoy getting to know the island on a shared tour with more people. A transport will pass for you and the other passengers from each hotel where they are staying, then you will have an introduction of the activities you will do all day and check that you have all the necessary accessories for the multisport activities.

After this introduction, you will start this great adventure heading to Cerro Mesa, by land transportation the trip will take around 40 minutes. During the tour you will appreciate the change of climate on the island from the lower part to the upper part, and on clear days you will appreciate a panoramic view of the Galápagos Archipelago from an altitude of 750 meters.

Once you arrive at Cerro Mesa you will prepare to make the bicycle tour downhill to El Garrapatero beach, the route has 9 km and the road is asphalted. It is very important for this circuit that the participants have experience in cycling.

You will arrive at the beach and you will take a deserved rest of 1 hour. After enjoying the scenery you will make the kayak ride from the beach by the crystal clear and calm sea of

Garrapatero where you will observe pelicans, sea turtles, lava and forked gulls, occasionally you can also observe flamingos.

After enjoying this kayak trip you will return to the beach and the transportation will be waiting for you to take you back to the town. You will have the rest of the day free to enjoy visiting the town.

DAY 3 Bay tourThis day you will get to know about this wonderful island visiting the following places:

La Lobería: Islet that is two miles away where sea lions are very friendly and like to swim with people.

Shark Channel: It is a fissure or crack formed by magmatic chamber swellings, where sharks sleep, which are totally harmless. Among the lava rocks are oceanic birds.

The Love Channel: Another fissure, fantastic for photography, of exceptional scenic beauty.

Franklin Bay: In this bay we find sea turtles, golden rays, eagle rays. Mangrove zone where pelicans and herons nest depending on the time of year.

Las Grietas: 15 minutes of walking on lava rocks where you can see Darwin’s finches, coastal and lagoon birds, endemic and native vegetation. The cracks are the continuation of the channels of sharks and love.

Los Perros Beach: This is an optional hike, named for the large number of dog crabs found in the area, along with the largest marine iguanas on Santa Cruz Island.

You will have the afternoon free to continue exploring the island.

DAY 4 Transfer out According to the departure time of your flight back to Quito or Guayaquil, the pick up will be made from the hotel to the Baltra airport where this great experience in the Enchanted Islands ends.
