He has over 20 years’ experience of quantitative strategies and derivatives in all major asset classes. He was previously CIO of Man Systematic Strategies, a quantitative start-up created in 2010. Sandy joined Man Group (‘Man’) via Man GLG (‘GLG’) in 2007, after 15 years at Goldman Sachs where he was a Managing Director focussed on using quantitative techniques to ﬁnd proprietary trading opportunities across asset classes. Prior to that he ran Equity Derivatives Research at Goldman Sachs in London and New York. Sandy is a co-inventor of the VIX index. He has a double ﬁrst class MA in Natural Sciences and Economics from Jesus College, Cambridge and a Licence Spéciale from the Université Libre de Bruxelles.

Sandy RattrayCEO of Man AHL

Sandy Rattray is the CEO of Man AHL (‘AHL’) and is a member of the Man Executive Committee. He has over 20 years’ experience of quantitative strategies and derivatives in all major asset classes.

He was previously CIO of Man Systematic Strategies, a quantitative start-up created in 2010. Sandy joined Man Group (‘Man’) via Man GLG (‘GLG’) in 2007, after 15 years at Goldman Sachs where he was a Managing Director focussed on using quantitative techniques to find proprietary trading opportunities across asset classes.
