Dear Parishioners, Thank you all for your prayers last week when I had a nasty cold. I am all better and have been enjoying all of the house blessings. It

is a great joy to visit with you and your families and to hear your stories of faith. More lists for home blessings will be coming out in

February, March, and the following months.

A lot of planning has been going on at the parish as we prepare for many wonderful opportunities for prayer here at St. Robert's in

2020. One of the needs we have as a parish is a music director. Last year Mrs. Benavidez stepped down from helping with the 5:30

PM Saturday mass as did the Delgado's with the 9 AM mass. We thank them for their DECADES of service here at St. Roberts. I

also had to step down from directing the youth choir when I was made pastor. Currently Ninfa is leading the 7 AM choir and we

have our 11 AM choir. We are in desperate need of a choir director, someone who would be able to practice with all of our choirs,

teach music, reading notes, harmony, and theology. This person would work at selecting music, leading practices, playing at

funerals, lead the children's choir, give music lessons, play at quince años celebrations and weddings. The choir director would need

to be able to play piano, sing, have experience directing choirs, speak English and Spanish, understand the theology of the mass and

the role of music in the liturgy. Such a person is very difficult to find, but we are starting the search. If you are interested or know of

anyone who is interested, please speak with Fr. Philip as soon as possible. Our choir leaders will be consulted and will help interview

any possible music director. Please pray for God to send us someone who can help us grow in our worship of God through song at

mass. This is an exciting time and I look forward to all of the growth we will achieve as a parish this year. May God bless us, every

Monaguillos y Padres, Durante nuestras juntas los sábados, repasamos el

proceso y discutimos lo que significa cuando hacemos

ciertas cosas durante la Misa. También demostramos la

postura correcta durante toda la Misa al rendir respeto y

reverencia a la Liturgia de la Palabra y la Liturgia de la

Eucaristía. Tendremos que volver a repasar los

procedimientos para toda la Misa junto con algunas cosas

que estamos agregando a la Misa y necesitamos que

todos asistan a la juntas de tesis. Padres, se requiere que

traigan a sus hijos a estas juntas. Juntos, podemos dedicar

nuestro tiempo y talento para servir mejor a nuestro

Señor como monaguillos. Nos juntaremos el sábado 25

de enero de 2020 de 10:00 AM. a 11:00 AM. Gracias.

Altar Servers and Parents, During our Saturday meetings we go through the process

and discuss what it means when we do certain things dur-

ing the Mass. We also demonstrate the proper posture

throughout the Mass as we pay respect and reverence to

the Liturgy of the Word and the Liturgy of the Eucharist.

We will need to revisit the procedures for the entire Mass

along with some things that we are adding to the Mass

and we need everyone to attend theses meetings. Parents,

you are required to bring your children to these meetings.

Together, we can dedicate our time and talents to better

serve our Lord as altar servers. We will meet Saturday

Jan. 25, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Again,

thank you for all you do for our parish.

Estimados Feligreses, Gracias a todos por sus oraciones la semana pasada cuando tuve un resfriado desagradable. Estoy mejor y he estado disfrutando de

todas las bendiciones de casa. Es una gran alegría visitarlos a ustedes y sus familias y escuchar sus historias de fe. En febrero, marzo

y los meses siguientes saldrán más listas de bendiciones para el hogar.

Se ha estado planeando mucho en la parroquia mientras nos preparamos para muchas oportunidades maravillosas para orar aquí en

San Roberto en 2020. Una de las necesidades que tenemos como parroquia es un director musical. El año pasado, la Sra. Benavidez

renunció a ayudar con la misa del sábado a las 5:30 PM, al igual que los Delgado con la misa de las 9:00 AM. Les agradecemos por

sus DECADAS de servicio aquí en San Roberto. Yo tuve que renunciar a dirigir el coro juvenil cuando fui nombrado párroco. Ac-

tualmente Ninfa dirige el coro de las 7:00 AM y tenemos nuestro coro a las 11 AM. Necesitamos desesperadamente un director de

coro, alguien que pueda practicar con todos nuestros coros, enseñar música, leer notas, armonía y teología. Esta persona trabajaría en

seleccionar música, dirigir prácticas, tocar en funerales, dirigir el coro de niños, dar clases de música, tocar en celebraciones y bodas

de quince años. El director del coro necesitaría poder tocar el piano, cantar, tener experiencia dirigiendo coros, hablar inglés y espa-

ñol, comprender la teología de la misa y el papel de la música en la liturgia. Esa persona es muy difícil de encontrar, pero estamos

comenzando la búsqueda. Si está interesado o conoce a alguien que esté interesado, hable con el Padre Philip lo antes posible.

Nuestros líderes del coro serán consultados y ayudarán a entrevistar a cualquier posible director musical. Oren para que Dios nos

Dear Parishioners, As we come to the end of the Christmas Season with the celebration of the Baptism of Jesus, we also come to the end of

our Christmas wish list. I am so grateful for all the parishioners who have come forward to pay for these necessary gifts

for the parish that will be enjoyed by all for many more years to come! Thank you so much for your generosity!

Our Camino de Christmas drive is still underway and we are planning to have a new road in May. I spoke with Kevin

from the Public Works Department about cleaning out the drainage ditches and that will be done in April. After the

ditches are cleaned we will be able to build the road, granted the $30,000 has been collected. If you have not contributed

to our road project, you can find envelopes in the back of the church. A big THANK YOU goes to those who have

already so generously contributed. Thank you for investing in our faith, our future, and our parish.

A JOURNEY INTO OUR CATHOLIC FAITH We are starting a journey into our Catholic Faith. If

you have ever wanted to know why we do things a

certain way, or what we believe in the Catholic

Church, then come to our classes and learn the rich-

ness, fullness, and beauty of our Catholic Faith.

Our classes will be on Thursday of each month at

7:00 PM and lasting until 8:30 PM in the Mike-

ska Fellowship Hall at St. Philip Church. Classes

will start on February 13. Come and bring a friend

and learn more about how much God truly loves us.

ACTS Retreat - Bay City Men’s Spanish We invite you to participate with us on an extraordinary weekend. It will be an opportunity for spiritual renewal. The

retreat begins on Thursday, March 19, with registration at Our Lady of Guadalupe at 5:30 pm. Transportation to and

from the retreat center (Baptist Encampment Center, Palacios) - will be provided for participants and ends on Sunday,

March 22 with a mass at 12 p.m. @ OLG Bay City.

The cost per participant is $175. A $50 deposit must be filed with this application to reserve your place at the retreat.

The rest is paid at the time of registration before the start of the retreat.
