    MontageDescription:

An inspirational montage made by the blending of threeimages, and the use of typography.

    Date:February 13, 2016

    Course/Instructor:Comm 130 Section 13 - Emily Kunz

    Program(s)/Tools: Adobe Photoshop

Objectives:Learn to manage Photoshop layers. Learn to blend

images together smoothly, using masks. Use lters. Applyappropriate typography.

Process:First I cropped my background image of the statue to 8.5 x11 inches. I made a copy of the image to have an original ormy photo. I added the photo of the youth trek and cropped it.I used the lasso tool to select the group of youth and pulledthem out of the picture and added it to the pioneer statue. Iadded a mask and using the brush tool I softened the edgesaround the youth. I added a paper background from textures.com and placed it on top of both images. Using the multiplyselection to create an opacity so my images would showthrough. This darkened the images making it possible to readmy body copy. I then put a mask over the texture and pokeda hole over the brightest parts of the statue and the youth to

bring them forward. I added my text and selected the fonts, styles and sizes on a few select words to create emphasis onthe message.
