Awatermarkisanoptiontoprinttextoveranexistingdocument.Forexample,whenyouwanttohavelargegraytextlike"DRAFT"or"CONFIDENTIAL"printeddiagonallyacrossthefirstpageorallpagesofadocument,youcanusethisoption.

Anoverlayistextand/orimagesstoredonthecomputer'sharddriveasaspecialfileformatthatcanbeprintedonanydocument.Theoverlaycanbeprintedlikeabackgroundimageonanydocuments,soyoucanusethisfeaturetoprintcompanyletterheadformsortemplates.

What is Secure Printing?

Whenyouuseaprintingdeviceinanoffice,schoolorotherpublicplace,youcanprotectyourpersonaldocumentsorconfidentialinformationbyusingthesecureprintingfeature.

Step A : Enabling the optional memory

Youcanusethisfeatureafterinstallingtheoptionalmemoryorharddrive.Ifyoudidnotenabletheoptionalmemory,setthemenusasshownbelow:

1 Fromtheprinterscontrolpanel,select Menu >System Setup>Maintenance >Ram Disk>Enable.

2 Fromacomputer,selectaprinterfromtheprinterlist>right-clicktheprinter>selectProperties>Device Options>Properties>Storage Options.ThenchecktheRam Diskoption.

Step B : Sending the secured print on the computer

1 OpenthePrinting Preferenceswindow.

2 SelectAdvancedtab> Print Mode>Confidential.

3 Enterthejobname,userID,andpassword.

4 Startprinting.Eventhoughyouhavestartedthesecureprintingjob,thedevicewillnotprintthedocumentuntilyouenteryourpasswordontheprinter.

1 Select Menu >System Setup>Job Manage>Stored Jobontheprinterscontrolpanel.

2 Selectthedocumenttoprint.

3 Enterthepasswordthatyousetfromtheprinterdriver.

TheEcoprintingisafeaturetosaveprintresourcessuchaspaperortoner.Thereforeitresultstoreducetheemissionofcarbondioxide,electricityusage,andtheamountoftreeforwood-pulp.Whenecoprintingfeatureisenabled,youcanseetheecoimage()onsomeoptions.
