    &he to*ing pattern shoud 5e decided 5" the captain of the ship4 in consutation *ith the captain

    1!During the connecting operation

    A the cre*s shoud 5e *e informed of the *ork procedures and personne distri5ution.

    &he person in charge of the *ork chief officer! on 8Bce deck or Poop deck! shoud a*a"scontact the captain4 and finish the *ork as fast as possi5e.

    &he person in charge of the *ork shoud *atch the movement of to*ing ship carefu". ,hen

    the to*ing ine *ith e"e spice is strained4 he shoud evacuate the cre*s to safe paces.

    2!During to*ing operation

    It is necessar" to grease up continuous" in order to prevent *ear of ropes in Panama chock

    *hen *ire ropes are used as to*ing ines.

    ,ear=out condition in Panama chock shoud 5e constant" checked.

    Rudder shoud 5e operated to improve the shipBs movement of foo*ing to the to*ing ship4 if

    necessar".

    It shoud 5e confirmed in the engine room if there is a pro5em of free propeer rotation.

    It is necessar" to determine in advance ho* to ock the propeer shaft.

    . @6ampes of the procedures for connecting to*ing ines

    As e6ampes of the procedures for connecting to*ing ines4 the 5asic procedures for the pattern

    1=84 2=8 and 3=8 are sho*n 5eo*. &he captain shoud decide the connecting procedures in

    consideration of the arrangement of mooring e)uipment and the ship status after consuting *ith

    the captain of the to*ing ship and inform the cre*s of the procedures.

    (Note: The following examples are developed to be used as the common procedures for

    ordinary ships. It should be noted, however, that the examples are developed for this ship and

    that there may be cases where these examples are not applicable to other ships, especially of

    which design and equipment are largely different from this ship. howing the connecting

    procedures simply by diagrams of dec! arrangements used in ection ".# and ection ".$ may

    be a practical way.%
