CANADA MINE SITE REPORT
SITE08 Superintendent Mining Operations Depending on the structure of the site, may report to either the Manager, Mining Operations or the General Manager or a Mine Manager. Supervises and co-ordinates the production crews responsible for the operation of the mine and related facilities in accordance with company objectives and procedures, and is responsible for meeting commitments in tonnage and quality, waste removal, equipment and manpower utilization. Also is responsible for grievance handling and budget/cost control. The primary difference between this position and that of the Manager Mining Operations is that the Superintendent Mining Operations does not have responsibility for either maintenance or engineering. Directs operations through one or more levels of supervision. Incumbent typically has a degree and at least 15+ years of operations experience in the mining industry.

SITE09 General Foreman/Mine Captain Typically reports to the Superintendent Mining Operations. Responsible for the day to day scheduling and control of functional mine site production activities including such things as drilling, blasting, haulage, overburden removal and a number of supervisory type responsibilities such as safety, training, manpower scheduling, performance reporting and grievance handling. Directs operations through first level supervisors. May be responsible for production activities on more than one shift and possibly across several areas (e.g. an operation with several small pits or several headings under production). Incumbent typically has 12-15 years of mining experience including 3 to 5 years in a supervisory capacity.
