Introduction

The purpose of this book is to make you equipped to reach world class level in your chosen craft and in turn, to make your name

registered in the list of legendary personalities that created a change in this world for the better. The information given in this book is

meticulously researched for years and written out, to train your brain to effortlessly know and work towards what all it takes to reach that

level which many of big personalities in history of humanity reached. We see a lot of things being invented by humans to add value to lives

of the people on earth, and to illustrate via a simple example, as we see an airplane being invented. The invention itself was miraculous.

The first version of plane we see was great in itself, but based on the first version which already was result of invention, people applied

that formula to further innovate the future aircrafts. This incremental innovations based on previous innovations, lead to so much

sophistication in the airplanes of modern day that we see today. On similar note, we have seen so many people reach a world class level

in numerous number of different fields and they made an impact on this world and ended up themselves being remembered by

generations. With so much evident factors in patterns of path followed by each of these

legends which made them a legend, I did not see any book or any specific training being

given to people to see through exact steps what it took to reach that world class level. So as per the research done on this front, its

found that it merely does not happen on chance, but this can be meticulously done by any individual at will, at any point in their life,

by knowing and following the streamlined steps. This book majorly has 3 portions designed and written, to train your brain to

achieve that knowledge and further achieve that dream life or goal where you can become one of those legends who created a huge

positive impact on this world. The first portion in the book contains the stories of 20 legendary personalities of this century for how

their childhood went, what factors lead them to start their craft, what all decisions they took and situations that came in their path, until

they reached that world class benchmark, included with aspects of their personal life. The

second portion will tell you the set of secrets that are/were common to each of these individuals which made them achieve that

world class spot. Each of these secrets will be backed up by evidences from these people‟s own beliefs or lifestyles. The third portion will

contain the way of implementing these secrets in your own life and training your brain to make it a lifestyle and you start your own

journey towards attaining your world class spot. Here is one request i want to make to you, to get the best out of this book and reach

your world class level where you leave your name in the list of legends who positively

impacted the planet. Take a vow to yourself, that for next 90 days you will read this book

daily for atleast 15 minutes a day. You can read as much as you want in a day but minimum 15 minutes daily for next 90 days is

a must. If you finish this book on course of your 90 days, you can start reading from beginning again, but 90 days daily for 15

minutes I hope you will commit to dedicate. This will let the information enter your subconscious and you will begin to apply the

secrets of reaching the world class in your craft without having to refer the book again and again in different circumstances or try to put

lot of effort thinking about it. You are for sure going to become a legend, as you are a special creation of God, like each individual who ever

came on the planet.

Stories of famous

personalities

1. Bruce Lee

Bruce Lee was born on November 27,1940 in San Francisco‟s Chinatown. He was given a Cantonese name Lee Jun Fan. According to

Chinese Tradition, the hour and year of the Dragon is said to be powerful omen and Bruce Lee was born during this period. Lee was given

3 other names apart from the Chinese names which were Li Yuanxin (his clan name), Li Yuanjian (name given when he was a student),

and Li Xiaolong (which means „little dragon‟ and this was his screen name when he became an actor). His English name „Bruce‟ is believed

to be given to him by a doctor in one of the hospitals he attended during childhood. Lee‟s early childhood started with the busy lifestyle

of his parents. Lee's father, Lee Hoichuen, was one of the most popular film actor as well as Cantonese opera of that period.Touring

different parts of the United States to perform

on several Chinese communities was known about him. While Lee‟s fathers friends decided

to stay in United States, Lee‟s father when Bruce was born decided to return back to Hong Kong. Lees had no choice but to stay in Hong

Kong for 3 years and 8 months because the time Lees moved back to Hong Kong, it was invaded by the Japanese. Grace Ho, Bruce

Lee‟s mother, was of Chinese-Caucasian descent. She belonged to the clan Ho-tungs which was one of most wealthiest and

influential clans known at that time in Hong Kong. The young Bruce Lee grew up in a wealthy and privileged environment due to

this. But Bruce Lee was not exempt from the dangerous environment that was resulting in a lot of gang rivalries despite the advantage of

his family‟s status. For Bruce‟s own protection his parents decided to let Bruce learn martial arts due to the lot street fights Bruce Lee used

to get involved in. His first teacher turned out to be his own father who taught him the basics

of Wu style Tai Chi Chuan. When Bruce Lee studied Wing Chun his interest in martial arts increased further. At the age of 13 in 1954

Bruce lost a fight to an opposing gangster and thus he further began to learn this style of martial arts. Bruce‟s master Yips Man, was one

of the most popular in art of Wing Chun and this art became Bruce‟s base style. Master Yips usual lessons consisted of free sparring, forms

and wooden dummy practice. He focused on teaching students to rather just compete in fights where discipline and respect are the

main aims of fight instead of fighting out on streets. After an year of training, because of

Bruce‟s mixed ancestry many of Yip Mans students refused to train under him along with

Bruce Lee. During those times, most Chinese were against teaching martial arts techniques to non-Asians. Bruce lee was not counted as

full blooded Chinese because his mother was of Chinese-Caucasian descent, so he was not supposed to be taught full Chinese Martial Arts.

Not falling down to external pressures Lee showed a lot of dedication to Wing Chun and he privately continued to train under Master

Yip and Wong Shun Leung in 1955.When Lee was 12 years of age, he entered primary school at La Sale College. Due to his poor

performance in this school, Lee was transferred to St Francis Xaviers College for high school in 1956. Coincidentally, the teacher

who mentored him turned out to be the school‟s boxing coach, who also taught him pointers on fighting. Bruce Lee started getting

into street fights more frequently until he reached his late teens. He apparently held fight

with and beat any one who got on his way and this included a son of one of the influential families. Due to this, in order to seek a safer

environment Lee's parents decided to leave Hong Kong and in 1959 they send Lee to stay with his sister, Agnes Lee, in United States and

she was living in San Francisco with one of the family friends. Bruce Lee was 18 then and he moved there with $100 in his pockets. He

stayed there for several months until he moved to Seattle to pursue his high school education. Lee worked as a waiter in Ruby

Chows restaurant while he was studying in the school. Ruby Chow was wife of a good friend of

Lee's father. In 1960, Lee completed his high school finally and took the diploma degree

from Edison Technical School which is the former name of the Seattle Central Community College. Bruce Lee got himself enlisted in

University of Washington in 1961 majoring in drama and he took subjects of Philosophy and Psychology along with other subjects of

interest. Here, Bruce met his to be wife, Linda Emery. Both married on august 1964 and had two children: Brandon and Shannon. Past back

in 1959, Bruce Lee already started teaching his own version of martial arts known as Jun Fan Gung Fu which was the name after his

Cantonese given name Jun Fan, making it literally „Bruce Lee‟s Gung Fu‟ which consisted mainly of all things he learned from previous

Wing Chun masters. Lee taught his friends in Seattle, some of whom were already expert in specific forms of martial arts but they were

interested in Lee's style. One of the first students of Lee, Jesse Glover, who was Judo

Practitioner continued to teach Lee's style martial arts to students till his death in June 2012. Jesse Glover and Taky Kimora were two

of the Lee‟s earlier students who continued to teach and spread Lee's form of martial art even after his death.Lee‟s first martial arts

school was named Lee Jun Fan Gung Fu and it was opened in Seattle. Lee was invited in Long Beach International Karate Championship by

the organiser Edd Parker, where Lee demonstrated his amazing skill of two finger push ups as well he showed another feat of

„one inch punch‟ where Lee punched a volunteer with his fist and this drove the

volunteer several feet away from him. At the same event Lee met the Taekwondo master

Jhoon Rhee for the first time and they developed friendship together sharing martial arts tricks to each other where Jhoon Rhee

taught Lee the basic form of side kicks while Lee taught him the his unique „non-telegraphic‟ punch. In America too the Chinese traditions of

Chinese martial arts masters not teaching the techniques of Chinese martial arts to Caucasians, or non-Chinese, was followed at

that time. However Bruce Lee who himself was non-pure Chinese did not believe in following such policies which according to him promotes

racism. Chinese authorities did not like the fact of Lee denying the traditional Chinese rules and they decided if Lee wants to have his way

out then he will need to fight it out. Bruce Lee was thus formally challenged by the Chinese authorities for a match in Oakland, California in

1964 where the condition was if Lee is able to win the match then he may continue to teach

anyone however if he loses then he would need to shut his martial arts school and stop teaching people of non-Chinese communities.

The people who witnessed the fight included his wife Lina and James lee as well as other martial artists who were majorly opposed to

Lee. As per the martial artists the fight lasted for about 20 minutes but Lee‟s wife and James Lee stated that Lee had a decisive win within

just 3 minutes of fight . Lee got the right to teach anyone he wants with this victory and further in 1967 he invented a form of art Jeet

Kune Do, the term means the way of intercepting fists. Despite the victory he

attained in fight, for Lee, he took 3 minutes to win was not satisfactory enough and he went

on to analyse the different techniques including his own which made him find that most of the techniques were too decorative for using it

spontaneously in any of fights. So Lee further developed his own fighting systems which could be more practical and efficient and his

system was based on directness, speed and efficiency. Bruce Lee began to introduce gym exercises and weight training into his martial

arts system, as well he included more specific exercises such as running for gaining stamina, fencing or boxing to improve foot work. Lee

also believed people should not give much time just for the techniques but rather also give time on the individuals participation. Bruce Lee

believed martial art should follow a concept of „a style with no style‟ where the ornamental and non-practical techniques are removed and

only effective and simple one‟s are retained. He also believed people‟s main focus should

not be on tradition of martial arts but on the martial arts itself at its core however his own Jun Fan Gung Fu was not devoid of this. This

lead to Bruce refining his system further and leading to originate his system with name of „The way of intercepting fist‟ or Jeet Kune Do.

Some of martial artists believed that Jeet Kune Do also had some of its limitations on its own which again brought a conflict to Lee‟s belief.

Lee wanted the JKD to be a martial art which does not have any limitations on its own and he even wished later on that he had not named

the art for this too puts on some limitations and boundaries on the martial art. After the

1964 match Lee realised that not all of the techniques of his Wing Chun were efficient as

his fist got swollen by continuously hitting out his adversary and sometimes missing it. He started to regard such techniques as energy

wastes and he further started to modify his own techniques which also included vigorous fitness routine to make his body reach its

potential limit. He realised a lot of martial artists give more of their time on techniques and less time on physical conditioning which

led him promote the idea that martial artists should focus on besides mastering a technique which included attaining muscular strength and

endurance, stamina and flexibility. Lee, though, did not ignored the philosophical aspects of martial arts so he regarded Jeet

Kune Do as development and mastery of both spirit and body. Lee always emphasised that forms only waste energy and are not much

efficient during combat and he equated the same to a fish swimming on a dry land, so as

per him the fighting should be simple and spontaneous. As per him, one only reacts to different steps rather than practicing them, as

well one attacks the opening without really considering the forms and further the mastery of JKD is not forms and techniques dependent,

but rather is dependent on the persons willingness and ability to train hard enough for the situation. As per Linda, Lee started taking

nutrition quite seriously after moving to America and he improved his diet in terms of taking high protein diets and he further

realised that training alone would not give an efficient body but proper nutritions free from

non-nutritious and junk food is important for a high performing body. He avoided foods such

as from baked floors and believed that such foods only contain unnecessary calories to halt the process of letting person achieve his

fighters body, and this he included along with daily training. He did not drink coffee and only took some tea and some milk and he never let

his work schedule let effect by any means his daily training. Sometimes travelling abroad was a necessity for Lee and he made sure to

carry his running shoes along with him so he could train if he gets to find vacant hours.Lee's major aim was to remove any of limitations

that traditional style‟s put for the martial artist and he could use the most effective techniques without the limitations of the styles.Lee found

his own limitations and with tremendous focus and dedication, a belief in his philosophy and great hard work he alone was able to

overcome it and he trained 6 days a week every week pushing his own body limits. Lee

finally reached his bodily physical limits on 13 August, 1973 when during morning warm up exercise he injured his lower back and

particularly his 4th sacral nerve and this led to Lee being advised to be bedridden for 6 months. Lee‟s doctors informed him that there

is possibility he might not be able to kick again and his wife later stated that it was impossible for Lee to be lying in bed for 6 months as he

wasn‟t one of those to lay down like that. Lee tried to overcome this setback and spend his days trying to rest both sleeping or sitting

straight on his back but he cared for valuable time as well which lead him to do lot of

research from the library of books as he himself had a vast collection of books on

martial arts, philosophy, psychology and self motivations. Lee‟s inability to train himself for 6 months led to to believe there is need for

him to mentally train himself as well as give himself sort of self motivations as he thought many people in his shoes may have considered

giving up. He also read through the philosophies of philosophers to motivate himself for his own better future.Lee was

particularly fascinated by the thoughts of the philosopher Jiddu Krishnamurti as Krishnamurti‟s philosophy was majorly based

on the idea of self reliance and one should try to find truth within himself rather than outside and this idea of philosophy very much

interested Lee.Bruce Lee after a lot of reflections and gaining new set of knowledge began to write his thoughts down and applied

them to martial arts and managed to complete 7 volumes and he also recovered over a period

of 6 months with getting back on his feet proving all the doctors wrong. Lee was able to perform full kicks again and infact he became a

better martial artist than ever before. With experience of injury as well, he realised that his idea about life and martial arts was true

which even included his special art of Jeet Kune Do. Lee realised his mistake of trying to create a perfect style of martial arts free from

any of flaws of traditional ways as he believed that ultimate truth of martial arts is composed of best of techniques of the martial arts, but

however after realising his mistake he found out that the ultimate truth does not lie in

10

certain fighting style but it lies in the soul of the martial artist himself. To Bruce martial art

did not remain a fighting technique anymore but it was rather a way for martial artist to honestly express himself and that was the

difficult thing to do for as per him, martial art did not merely mean the set of techniques but rather an expression of techniques by the

martial artists based on their own emotions. A famous quote by Lee was „when you want to punch, punch. When you want to kick, kick‟

and this was quite a perfect example to honestly express oneself in form of unarmed combat and this thereafter became a mission

for Lee to spread the message to the world. Lee realised that the most effective way to spread his message would not be through

private instructions but rather he went back to roots which were televisions and films and thus he focused on the most effective way by trying

to get the leading roles in the Hollywood films. Lee somehow took roles in some of the shows,

he was getting difficulty in getting leading roles in America may be due to his ethnicity and after several struggles and failures he realised

he is kind of wasting time and money by trying in Hollywood which eventually led him to move to HongKong to spread his message by being

part of HongKong movies. Bruce Lee in all his films made sure that any of violence shown is because of a just reason. He also majorly took

movies which portrayed Chinese as no less than any other race, which was quite evidenced by the fact that villains in his movies

were from different countries, and also Lee saw himself as a man who belonged to world

Abdullah Zahid

11

and not just Chinese.Lee‟s mission was to spread his ideas on life and martial arts to

anyone who wanted to know irrespective of his race and ethnicity. In one of his films which he also directed, The Way of the Dragon, Lee

show this by putting the idea in the climactic scene of the film in which Lee was shown to be losing the fight while using Chinese Gung Fu to

one of the characters which was played by his mate Chuck Norris. But it was further shown that by using an adaptive and formless

technique Jeet Kune Do, Lee won. This was to represent a fact that if people put boundaries between themselves by confining their limits,

this would cause a conflict which would lead to defeat but on other hand if people disregard the differences amongst themselves to adapt

each other, then victory would be certain. There was another scene in the movie where Lee showed respect to the fellow adversary

whom he defeated in the final battle as this was meant show the Lee‟s principle of life that

regardless of the race or ethnicity, the adversary was a fellow human being. There was another communication Lee tried to make

through this which was the brotherhood of all nationalities and along with that the movies also preserved the sense of justice of the lead

character of the movie where any of the fight that took place had a clear and justifiable reason behind it. Bruce Lee‟s Original Game of

Death finale contained the 12 page storyline which stated that the main character, which Lee himself played, would portray an

undefeated martial artist who was forcibly hired by the underworld to carry out their

12

agenda of raiding a 5 storey pagoda which was said to have 5 floors and treasures lying on the

topmost floor and each floor was guarded by the martial artists to defend the Pagoda from any of the intruders and trying to not let them

reach the next level. The main characters mission was to take over the treasures from the topmost level for his companions and

further the first level was protected by the martial art expert specialising in kicks and the second level was protected by the martial art

expert specialising in hand techniques. Lee instructed the martial artist to focus on Wing Chun hand techniques with kicks limited to

knee level. At the third level Lee chose a martial artist specialising in weapons as he thought it would make an interesting battle

between two martial artists both specialised in weapons. The nunchaku was used as it had fast and unpredictable movements and it attributed

to the unpredictable aspects of Jeet Kune Do. For fourth level, Lee chose a martial artist

specialised in grappling skills as he believed most of movies used fighting styles just in form of strikes and Lee chose the practitioner

of Korean Hapkido as the guard for this floor. Bruce Lee chose for the top flour one of his students Kareem Abdul Jabbar who fought with

unknown and unrefined style and to Lee this was the highest level of martial arts without any style restrictions, as well this represented

Lee‟s view of his Jeet Kune Do. As per Lee the most effective fighter never uses a particular style or is dependent on it but he depends on

his own physical capabilities, and that was the character of Bruce Lee in this movie where he
