I grew up in a rich musicalenvironment in my home and outof my home. Any kid that grewup in the 70s and the 80s with anymusical talent probably sufferedfrom the same things: Variety. Myfather had one of the strongesttenor voices I ever heard and as

far as I could remember we had alarge record collection with a longlist of groups I took the liberty ofplaying time and time again. Isoaked up the many genres thatwere in my house and a lot ofthese influences are what I usew h e n I m w o r k i n g o n aproduction. In my mind I cantake a musical pattern from an oldfunk or rock and cut and pastearrangements as I go.

Ive worked on many recordingsspanning from 1989 to present.My travels included rubbingshoulders with some of the best inthe business. Im happy to be aliveto experience the transition fromthe reel-to-reel analog days into

the digital age. The advancementof technology continuing tounravel and moving to heightsunknown in this music industry isstimulating.

Baby Girl/B2KJive to EpicId just returned from a Caribbean tour and hooked up with

my contact at Jive records. We agreed to meet up the next dayso that afternoon I went to my studio where I taught pianolessons. That afternoon I wrote Baby Girl, and the next day Iplayed the keyboard and sang it live in the writing room at Jive.It turned out that Jive wasnt interested in the song. When mycontact person moved over to Epic, the song was introducedand became one of the songs on B2Ks Debut album. Thealbum went on the be certified Gold.
