How it all startedFrom a small one man operation Blacksmiths business to a successful and efficient Medium-sized enterprises specialising in vehicle construction.

The company was founded in 1961 in a small workshop in Bendingbostel Lower Saxony by Heinz Schutz, who was a skilled Blacksmith. He began with the buying and selling of agricultural machinery along with repairs and production of single trailers. The growing business necessitated the building of the first production hall in 1967 where the design and building of vehicle bodies took place.

Extending in to horticultureDuring the late 60s, Bendingbostel saw the esta-blishment of 13 new Market Gardens companies who constantly needed equipment for their busi-nesses.Solutions for the internal transport of garden pro-ducts were quickly developed and it was not long before a complete range of equipment was availa-ble for market gardens. The next stage came in the developing of transportation solutions in the form of special vehicle trailers.As early as 1975 the company started exhibiting their Garden products in small local fairs, which quickly developed into exhibiting their equipment across the whole of Germany.

Technology for horticultureSince the 1980s Schutz has specialised in solu-tions for the transportation of garden plants under the motto „Plants can only be sold when they arrive safely at their destination“.We develop and manufacture transport solutions and equipment according to customer require-ments, through to complete transportation vehicles.We have been exhibiting our products at the world‘s largest Plant trade fair in the annual Essen IPM Exhibition since 1985.

In the 1990s we manufactured and marketed the Schutz Aluminium sales tables in large quantities along with further solutions for other horticultural industries. Thus, from a small family business we grew to a medium-sized automotive company.Since the mid-nineties the family business has been controlled from the second family generation by Birgit and Jens Schutz.

Full speed aheadToday we develop, market and sell the Schutz products throughout Europe and manufacture over 1,000 vehicle bodies per year.

We employ over 100 employees in four factories, with a production area of approximately 10,000 m².

Equipment as well as construction solutions are pro-duced and sold in large numbers by the continuous improvement and supplementation of products, along with cost-optimized production of transportati-on for green industries, municipalities and coopera-tives.

We are DIN EN ISO 9001 certified with over fifty years of experience in a future-oriented organisati-on, meaning high quality and performance of pro-ducts for our customers..We additionally offer our customer further safety measures in the form of monitoring, testing and certification from Dekra and TÜV.
