High Strength Silica (HSS) HPLC Columns

Waters developed HSS HPLC columns in response to the active feedback from our customers who have developed UPLC assays, yet require the need to transfer UPLC methods to HPLC. This is necessary in efforts to utilize existing LC systems present in other parts of an organization, or contract partners, which have not yet implemented UPLC Technology. Present in three chemistries (C18, C18 SB, and T3), and two HPLC particle sizes (3.5 and 5 μm), HSS HPLC columns enable methods to be seamlessly transferred between HPLC and UPLC systems.

Designed to support the new ACQUITY UPSFC system, four new 1.7 µm SFC column chemistries based on patented ethylene-Bridged Hybrid (BeH) particle technology were developed. New Viridis SFC chemistries include 2-ethylpyridine, 4-ethylpyridine, Fluoro-Phenyl, and unbonded BeH offer excellent peak shape and wide range of selectivity. ACQUITY UPLC Columns and VanGuard Pre-Columns

The ACQUITY UPLC Column family continues to evolve and expand, now including five particle substrates [BeH 130Å, BeH 200Å, BeH 300Å, HSS, and CSH] and 14 chemistries which are scalable between HPLC and UPLC particle sizes. Additionally, six application-directed UPLC chemistries for SeC, amino acid analysis, proteins, peptides, oligonucleotides, and glycan analysis are available. With a number of selectivity choices for both small molecule and biopharmaceutical applications, Waters has a UPLC column solution to meet your application needs.

New ACQUITY UPLC CSH (Charged Surface Hybrid) Columns are designed to maximize chromatographic selectivity in method development and are available in C18, Fluoro-Phenyl and Phenyl-Hexyl chemistries. These are just the latest addition to the ACQUITY UPLC Column family, providing complementary selectivity to our existing portfolio.

ACQUITY UPLC BeH Columns (available in C18, C8, Shield RP18, Phenyl, HILIC, Amide, SeC 200Å, 300 Å C18, and 300A C4 chemistries), as well ACQUITY UPLC HSS Columns (available in C18, C18 SB, and T3 chemistries). All of Waters ACQUITY UPLC Columns are the only columns designed, tested, and guaranteed for routine use in applications up to 15,000 psi (1034 bar).

Available in 200 plus combinations of column configurations and chemistries, ACQUITY UPLC Columns combine faster separations with higher resolution by harnessing the full potential of small particles. Method Transfer Kits

New Method Transfer Kits are designed to preserve the integrity of a separation as it is transferred between UPLC and HPLC platforms. Based on the concept of maintaining column length (L) to particle size (dp) ratio (L/dp), these kits provide a ACQUITY UPLC Column with an HPLC Column of equivalent selectivity and resolving power. Using the ACQUITY UPLC Columns calculator (which can be downloaded at www.waters.com/myuplc), methods can be fully transferred from HPLC to UPLC or from UPLC to HPLC.

Method Development Kits

With a seemingly endless number of method parameters to try, developing a new chromatographic method can be an overwhelming, and time- consuming experience.
