By what do I recognize the quality of a laminate fl oor?

› Brilliance of the decor › Swell properties of the swell-resistant fi breboard (swell protection) – only HDF material used for the boards › Quality of the click connection: neat bevel is crucial for a perfect installation pattern › Wear classes

What do the wear classes mean?

Independent guidance using different quality criteria: Class 23: living areas with intensive use – Class 31: commercial areas with low or intermittent use – Class 32: commercial areas with medium use Class 33: Commercial areas with intensive use – Class 34: Commercial areas with very heavy use

Can you lay laminate on underfl oor heating / on carpet?

› Yes, on hot water underfl oor heating or electrical heating systems without night storage (max. surface temperature 28° C) › No, laying laminate on carpets is not recommended for stability and hygiene reasons

Is laminate suitable for damp areas?

› Yes, in well ventilated bathrooms, but not in permanently damp areas, laminate can be laid away from where water splashes. › All surrounding joints must be sealed so that no moisture can get under the surface.

Can laminate fl ooring become statically charged?

› In principle yes (in case of too little humidity: < 40%) › Special laminate fl oors reduce electrostatic charges due to their increased conductivity.

What is the reason for the edges swelling?

› Wiping with a cloth that is too wet or too damp, or standing liquids. Only wipe with a lightly damp cloth therefore.

Is laminate loud?

No. Suitable acoustic underlays keep both ambient and impact noise to a minimum.

Can a laminate fl oor become warped or dinted?

› Yes. With the wrong interior climate or in case of damp from below, laminate can warp. That is why an underlay with a vapour barrier is required with mineral subfl oors.

Why must an all-round joint be maintained?

› So that the fl oor does not curve, as the fi breboards are made of wood material that expands and shifts.
