Happy Father’s Day! Be sure to capture this special day with Dad,
Grandpa or that special guy at our photo
opportunity spot in the Welcome Center.
Rolling River Rampage VBS starts tomorrow! It’s not too late to join us, and you can
register at the door. Dinner is at 5:30, and VBS rotations will
begin at 6.
Be sure to be here next Sunday, June 24th
, during worship as our
children share all they’ve learned! VBS participants, please be
here at 9:30 next Sunday wearing your VBS shirt. We will practice
our performance during the Sunday School hour. We are excited
to show our church family what we learned about Jesus!
We could still use a few more volunteers to help with music and
serve as additional group leaders. Call or text Marissa Hill at 803-
920-3410 to volunteer!

Welcome and Announcements
*Call to Worship, 2236 vs 2 Gather Us In We are the young - our lives are a mystery, we are the old - who yearn for you face, we have been sung throughout all of history, called to be light to the whole human race. Gather us in the rich and the haughty gather us in the proud and the strong; give us a heart so meek and so lowly, give us the courage to enter the song.
*Invocation God has created, First the light, then the light was separated from darkness, next the dome in the midst of the waters. God spoke all that there is into existence, God said; “Let there be light” and so it was, “Let there be a dome” and so it was. It was God that created and gave to us a place, And yet were we in the sacred place inviting God to come be with us, to bear with us in the midst of our worship. Come Holy, Creating God; make within us a place where you may live. Amen.
*Hymn, 77 How Great Thou Art If you have a prayer request, please fill out the prayer card, and the ushers will pick them up during the singing of the hymn.

Church on the Lake June 17, 2018
Prelude
Gathering Time (Welcome / Announcements / Opening Prayer / Greeting)
*Song 1 Morning Has Broken 1. Morning has broken like the first morning; blackbird has spoken like the first bird. Praise for the singing! Praise for the morning! Praise for them, springing fresh from the Word!
2. Sweet the rain's new fall sunlit from heaven, like the first dewfall on the first grass. Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden, Sprung in completeness where his feet pass.
3. Mine is the sunlight! Mine is the morning born of the one light Eden saw play! Praise with elation, praise every morning, God's recreation of the new day!
*Song 2 God of Grace and God of Glory 1. God of grace and God of glory, on your people pour your power; crown your ancient church's story, bring its bud to glorious flower. Grant us wisdom, grant us courage, for the facing of this hour, for the facing of this hour.
2. Cure your children's warring madness; bend our pride to your control; shame our wanton, selfish gladness, rich in things and poor in soul. Grant us wisdom, grant us courage, lest we miss your kingdom's goal, lest we miss your kingdom's goal.
The Scripture Reading Genesis 1:1-10
Sermon “Water, Water Everywhere”
*Song/with Offering Lord, You have come to the Lakeshore
1. Lord, you have come to the lakeshore looking neither for wealthy nor wise ones; you only asked me to follow humbly. O Lord, with your eyes you have searched me, and while smiling have spoken my name; now my boat’s left on the shoreline behind me; by your side I will seek other seas.
2. You need my hands full of caring, through my labors to give others rest, and constant-love that keeps on loving. O Lord, with your eyes you have searched me, and while smiling have spoken my name; now my boat’s left on the shoreline behind me; by your side I will seek other seas.
*Blessing
*Postlude *Indicates that the Congregation stands. If standing is uncomfortable, please remain seated and continue with your participation. Bold Titles indicate Congregation Participation.

Screenings are fast, painless and affordable. Three key tests check
for blocked carotid arteries, an irregular heart rhythm called atrial
fibrillation, and high blood pressure, which are the three leading
risk factors for stroke. Other tests check for abdominal aortic
aneurysms and hardening of the arteries in the legs. A bone
density screening to assess osteoporosis risk is also offered and is
appropriate for both men and women. More info to follow!
Salem’s Summer Outreach Ministry
Volunteers Needed Salem’s summer outreach ministry has begun and will continue
every Tuesday evening through August 28th
. Each Tuesday
evening, a team of volunteers will deliver the bag lunches to the
homeless in downtown Columbia. The Missions Committee budget
provides the bottled water and chips but depends on two
volunteers each week to provide the sandwiches and sweet treats.
Here’s how you can help:
1. Provide Food: Sign up to prepare 20 sandwiches and
provide 20 sweet treats (i.e. Little Debbie cakes, Twinkies,
packaged cookies, etc.). Place each sandwich in a plastic
sandwich bag and then place the sandwich and sweet treat
in a brown paper bag and deliver to the Fellowship Hall on
the Tuesday you signed up.
2. Help Deliver the Food: Sign up to ride along with our
team leaders on a Tuesday evening. We like to have three
people (a driver, one person to hand out sandwiches, and
one to hand out water). Volunteer to be a Team Leader.
Leaders commit to leading the team one Tuesday night per
month (3 times).
Sign-up sheets for Meal Preparation and Delivery are on the table
in the Welcome Center.
