CSU Vision for Integrated Solution

• Easy provisioning of centrally developed Subject/Course resources

• Enabling Academics to contribute items from EQUELLA to various collections

• Enabling Academics to easily link a range of resources to EQUELLA from Sakai


EQUELLA Tool facilities

• Links with EQUELLA items are stored in a folder within the resources tool

• The tool name and resource folder name can be customised at a global level.


Recent EQUELLA tool advances

• Ability to stealth tool from students view only output is shown, requested by CSU

• Recently contributed items list for easy linkage, part of a new EQUELLA release

Current state of CSU Solution

• Moving toward rollout of various collections, including a major production collection

• EQUELLA Sakai tool will be a pilot tool only selectable by academics when part of a pilot


Future evolution

• Thinking around push not just pull technology for provisioning EQUELLA resources

• EQUELLA allows a resource selector item where an item can contain links to other items, we are exploring how to harness this to expedite the provisioning process


Future evolution (cont.)• If these resource selector items could contain

metadata about a particular cohort of students, be monitored and picked up by the Sakai tool or intermediate process it would allow for:– An EQUELLA item to record what was given to

students at any point in time (to the version)– Auto resource population of a Sakai site without

requiring instructor access


Planned Enhancements to EQUELLA-Sakai Integration

• Quick submit to EQUELLA from within Sakai

• Enhanced item version selection – latest or specific version

• Multiple object add through a single process

• Tighter integration with Sakai 3.0
