A Special World
A special world for you and meA special bond one cannot seeIt wraps us up in its cocoon
And holds us fiercely in its womb.
Its fingers spread like fine spun goldGently nestling us to the fold
Like silken thread it holds us fastBonds like this are meant to last.
And though at times a thread may break
A new one forms in its wakeTo bind us closer and keep us strongIn a special world, where we belong.

An Entrapment
My love, I have tried with all my beingto grasp a form comparable to thine own,
but nothing seems worthy;
I know now why Shakespeare could notcompare his love to a summer’s day.
It would be a crime to denounce the beautyof such a creature as thee,
to simply cast away the precisionGod had placed in forging you.
Each facet of your beingwhether it physical or spiritual
is an ensnarementfrom which there is no release.
But I do not wish release.I wish to stay entrapped forever.
With you for all eternity.
Our hearts, always as one.

If I could have just one wish,I would wish to wake up everydayto the sound of your breath on myneck,
the warmth of your lips on mycheek, the touch of your fingers on myskin, and the feel of your heart beatingwith mine...Knowing that I could never findthat feelingwith anyone other than you.

Romeo and Juliet
Shakespeare's star-crossed lovers are probably themost famous of all fictional romantic couples. The
balcony scene where they confess their love providessome of the best-known lines in English literature, such as, "What's in a name? That which we call arose/By any other name would smell as sweet."
The story of young lovers seeking happiness despite
opposition from their families was well known toElizabethan audiences. It had appeared in variousforms, including as a long, narrative poem by Arthur Brooke. But Shakespeare's beautifully crafted play,

with its brilliant use of words andcompelling characters, gave theold story a vibrancy that soon
eclipsed all other versions.
Even today, more than 400 yearsafter it was first presented, Romeo
and Juliet symbolizes true burninglove.

Robin Hood and Maid Marion
Ballads from Medieval England recount theadventures of Robin Hood, a legendary
hero who robbed from the rich, thegovernment, and the church, while helpingthe poor and the oppressed. With his band
of Merry Men, he lived in Sherwood
Forest, where they hid from the Sheriff of Nottingham.

Maid Marion is presented differently in the manyRobin Hood ballads and stories. In some she is
portrayed as a Saxon girl who has known RobinHood all her life, in others she is a Normannoblewoman, or the ward of the Sheriff of
Nottingham who spies for Robin Hood. Sometimes
she is a damsel in distress, and at others she isdepicted as an able swordswoman, or the brainsbehind the Merry Men.
Yet, almost always, Maid Marion is Robin Hood'strue love. According to local legend, they were
married in St. Mary's church in Edwinstowe andremained together for the rest of their lives.
