From The Finance Council The Finance Council has been tracking all of the major improvement projects being made to the Church and hall during the past year. Financial statements for the fiscal year, which runs from July 1- June 30, will be presented in the Church Bulletin when available in late August/early September. Your continued support of St. Rose has allowed the parish to improve and maintain our facilities. Major improvements being completed during this fiscal year include the new sound and video system for the Church and Hall, and the removal of the “popcorn” ceiling on the perimeter of the Church including retexturing and painting. A few items still needing attention are repair of the water damage on the area above the altar, as well as new lighting in the darker areas of the Church. We appreciate your support and look forward to additional improvements in the next fiscal year. These will potentially include repainting of the Church interior, new security cameras for the Church and School, and construction of the new rectory in the Parish house. Watch for more updates!

THE GIFT OF PEACE
There arose no little dissension and debate. Did that happen at work this week? Most of us can recall run-ins with coworkers, even with the boss. Did it happen while socializing with friends? Go easy on politics, religion . . . even sports. At home? Even the most peaceful household experiences a little give and take now and then. So where was it that there arose no little dissension and debate ? That tumultuous conflict occurred among our first Christian ancestors, disrupting the community life of the early church. But today's Acts of the Apostles shows how beautifully the Holy Spirit, promised by Jesus in today's Gospel, helped the church achieve a grace-filled resolution. What evolved was that reconciled diversity, often encouraged by Pope Francis and even envisioned in today's Revelation passage; and a wondrous experience of Jesus promised Gospel gift: Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.

EL DON DE LA PAZ Surgieron no pocos desacuerdos y debates . ¿Pasó eso en el trabajo esta semana? Muchos de nosotros pueden recordar algunos roces con compañeros de trabajo, incluso con el jefe. ¿Pasó también mientras socializaba con amigos? Evita hablar de política, religion, incluso de deportes. ¿En casa? Incluso el hogar más pacífico experimenta un poco de estira y afloja de vez en cuando. Entonces ¿dónde fue que surgieron no pocos desacuerdos y debates ? Ese tumultuoso conflicto ocurrió en medio de nuestros primeros hermanos cristianos, interrumpiendo la vida de la comunidad de la Iglesia primitiva. Pero en los Hechos de los Apóstoles muestra cuán bello es el Espíritu Santo, prometido por Jesús en el Evangelio de hoy, que ayudó a la Iglesia a lograr una decisión llena de gracia. Lo que evolucionó fue que la diversidad reconciliada frecuentemente animada por el Papa Francisco e incluso previstas en el pasaje de hoy del Apocalipsis y una experiencia maravillosa del don de Jesús prometido por Jesús: La paz les dejo, mi paz les doy.
