Saint Camillus de Lellis

(1550-1614) worked in a hospital in

Rome that took care of patients with

incurable illnesses. He later became

its Director. Seeing that his patients

often received poor attention from

the hospital staff, he devoted his life

to providing excellent care for the

sick, in whom he saw the face of Christ. He began a reli-

gious order committed to helping the most ill, even at the

risk of their own well-being, known as St. Camillus or

the Camillians. St. Camillus is the patron of the sick, hospi-

tals, nurses and

physicians and his feast day is July 18th.

“Lord, let me trust in your providential care.  Free

me from the fear of failure, from sinfulness and

indifference. Give me insight to care for others and

to serve rather than be served.  Let charity,

compassion, and hospitality be my gifts to those

suffering.  Let my thoughts and deeds as well as my

motivation be lived out for your greater glory.”

St. Camillus de Lellis pray for us.

What is the Legion of Mary?

We are the largest apostolic organization of lay people in the Catholic Church, and we are blessed to be under the powerful leadership of Mary Immaculate, Mediatrix of all Graces. We seek the glory of God through the sanctifi-cation of our members and service to others, in union with the Holy Spir-it. We achieve this through a balanced program of prayer and active cooperation with Mary's and the Church's work, and under the guidance of clergy. By imitating Our Lady, who gave her life in loving service to her Son and for the salvation of souls, we use proven methods to bring people to Christ and to fulfill our baptis-mal obligations to live apostolic (CIC, c. 225) and holy (CIC, c. 210) lives. Our praesidium, Queen of Angels, meets on Thursdays at 5:30 p.m. in the Gym Conference Room. For more information, please contact Maurice Azenui at (773) 715-1371 or [email protected].

With praise and thanksgiving to Almighty God Saint Patrick Parish

and the Diocese of Raleigh joyfully announce the Ordination of

Gerardo “Tito” Mercado and Joshua Klickman

to the Order of the Permanent Diaconate

God has been leading his people throughout the long history of Saint Patrick Parish in

Fayetteville. And now God has called two more of His flock to serve Him as Permanent Dea-

cons. Josh and Tito, along with 13 other men, will be ordained by Bishop Zarama on Saturday

June 27 at Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral.

We ask you remember them in a special way in your prayers as they are ordained and as they

begin their service to the people God as Deacons.

Thank You Saint Patrick Parish Family! We have all been faced with challenges over the last three months but as

always, you, our parishioners, have shown your amazing generosity. WE THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR PRAYERS which have helped our staff endure illnesses and to work through

the challenges presented to us.

WE THANK YOU FOR THE DONATIONS that have been made to directly help parishioners facing financial diffi-culties.

WE THANK YOU FOR THE FINANCIAL GIFTS that have helped us to purchase copyright licenses and equipment to enable and improve our livestream Mass.

WE THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED WEEKLY GIVING TO THE OFFERTORY. It is especially important in challenging times like these. The building had to be closed but the work of the parish always continues.

WE THANK YOU FOR DONATIONS OF FOOD through our Together We Can program for Catholic Charities.

WE THANK YOU FOR CALLING AND CHECKING ON OTHER PARISHIONERS who are homebound or in need and, for running errands for them.

WE THANK YOU FOR CARING FOR OUR CHURCH BUILDING and for helping us to prepare for public Mass.

Let’s continue this wonderful life of Stewardship by continuing to use what we

have been given to serve others as the Gospel calls us to do.

WE ARE THE BODY OF CHRIST, HIS HANDS AND HIS FEET.
