Joe or Deacon Joe Flocco for more information. Cursillo is held at the Holy Cross Retreat House in Easton, MA. Upcoming dates for both men and women are listed below. For more information, see their website: www.retreathouse.org.

PWC Collaborative Welcomes Cardinal Seán,
New Music Ministries at St. Mary Our Collaborative Parishes are honored to welcome His Eminence, Cardinal Seán O’Malley, as he visits us this Saturday to celebrate the 4 o’clock Mass with members of both parishes. Parishes cannot be com-plete experiences of the Church on their own - we are part of a diocese and a catholic (i.e., universal) family. Each diocese or archdiocese, though, can be consid-ered a “particular Church” because it includes its lay faithful, religious and clergy gathered around the dioc-esan bishop, a successor of the apostles. Our archbish-op is our shepherd, high priest, and principal teacher in faith and morals. Cardinal Seán recently returned from the Summit Meeting in Rome of leaders of the world’s bishops. As President of the Pontifical Commission for the Protection of Minors, he helps to promote poli-cies throughout the world which protect minors and vulnerable adults, advocating for all who have been harmed by some of the Church’s ministers, and against those who failed to hold their abusers account-able - no matter how highly ranking they may be. Like St. Francis of Assisi, the founder of the cardinal’s Capuchin order, Cardinal Seán also humbly challenges us to support the Church of Boston in our collective efforts to promote the Gospel (to evangelize), to serve those in need, and to protect all vulnerable adults, chil-dren and the unborn - all of whom are undervalued and often persecuted by our society.
The 4 o’clock Mass the cardinal is celebrating also marks the first week of our adult choir moving from St. Mary’s 9:30 Mass to this Saturday evening Mass that serves members of both of our parishes. The Di-rector of Music Ministries at St. Mary, Jillian Carelli, has continued the good work of her predecessors and added her personal gifts, including humble leadership and affection for both adults and children. As a result, Jillian and I have embraced this change which has been bandied about for a couple of years. With the support of the Collaborative Pastoral Council, we be-lieve the 4pm Mass will help the adult choir to contin-ue to grow both in number and effectiveness in leading more members of the congregation singing. Mean-while, the children’s choir which Jillian has continued to nurture will become the primary music ministers at the 9:30 Family Mass, with the support of a small number of adults who will accompany them.
Daylight Savings Daylight savings is next weekend. Don't forget to change your clocks ahead one hour.
My Brother's Keeper Blanket Drive In 2018, My Brother's Keeper delivered 1,556 mattress sets to local families in need. Each delivery included a new blanket. During these cold winter nights you can "Give a hug, provide a blanket" by supporting the My Brother's Keeper Blanket Drive. To make a contribu-tion, donor cards and mailing envelopes are available at the exits of St. Martha Church and St. Mary Church.
May the communities of our collaborative parishes be blessed by this visit from Cardinal Seán as we con-tinue to grow in faith and practice, in accord with our archdiocesan pastoral plan, Disciples in Mission, and our local pastoral plan for our Plainville-Wrentham Collaborative, Go Therefore and Make Disciples!

You Are What You Read - Lenten Library
There is a maxim in computer-ese of GIGO (Garbage In Garbage Out) and denoted the solid fact that our computers can only give back what we put into them as data. The same is true of our minds and souls. What comes out of our mouths is reflective of what we have put into our minds and hearts: "You are the books you read, the films you watch, the music you listen to, the people you meet, the dreams you have, the conversations you engage in. You are what you take from these." Lent is a time when we examine our lives and daily practices. Maybe we need to alter and delete some of the data we bring into our lives via, books, movies, music, media or conversations. One of the time-honored Lenten traditions is spiritual reading, with books on prayer, grow in faith, the lives of the saints and Church teaching. To that effect, we will be setting up a ‘Lenten Library’ of recommended books for Lent at Saint Mary Church and Saint Martha Church. Please select a book and make it yours. Spiritual reading is often enhanced by high-lighting passages for later referral. These books are yours for free due to the generosity of the Sisters of Chre-tienne at Wrentham and Father Bill who have both downsized their libraries and want to share these volumes
with people who want to nourish their minds and souls with nourishing material for Lenten reflection.
