12 HOUR ADORATION Friday, May 4th there will be Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and Adoration beginning after the 8:30am Mass and lasting until 9pm on Friday. Please consider giving an hour of your time. You may sign-up on the board outside the Chapel or simply show up during the day. At 11am there is a Holy Hour for Church Vocations led by Serra Club of S.E. Kansas City. All are welcome to share in this praying ministry.
ST. REGIS STEWARDSHIP CORNER Jesus offers a quintessential stewardship statement in to-day’s Gospel reading: “Whoever remains in me and I in him will bear much fruit, because without me you can do nothing.” Jesus Christ offers us the fullness of eternal life. Do our lives reveal that this is what we want? Do we believe that by hearing the Word of the Lord and re-sponding we not only produce “good fruit,” but abide in the very life of God?

CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION MONTH Background checks in churches, schools and other organizations keep predators away from children both because they scare off some predators and be-cause they uncover past actions which should ban an adult from working or volunteering with children. If an adult has had difficulty with some boundaries that society sets, such as not driving while intoxicated or not disturbing the public peace, he or she may have difficulties with other boundaries, such as not hurt-ing a child. Never forget that offenders lie.

FOLLOW ME: MEETING JESUS
IN THE GOSPEL OF JOHN Tuesdays May 1st through June 19th, 7-8:30pm in Mary’s Room. Join us for this series of DVD presentations host-ed by Dr. Edward Sri. We will delve into the Gospel of John from the perspective of biblical figures who encoun-tered Jesus. We will unlock some key principles that expand our knowledge of who Jesus is and enhance our relationship with Him. Visit the signup table in the Gath-ering Space after Sunday Mass.
MOTHER’S DAY We will have a special Mother’s Day display with the names of both living and deceased mothers. If you would like to have the name of a mother included, please be sure to place their name on the Mother’s Day envelope includ-ed in your packet and make a contribution in their honor. You may place your envelope in the regular collection basket or bring it to the office no later than Wednesday, May 9. This is a wonderful way to recognize the spe-cial gift of our mothers.

• On Saturday, May 19, from 9-11am we will be deco-rating the sidewalk outside the church for Pentecost. Snacks provided. This is to welcome people for Pen-tecost Sunday.

HOSPITALITY SUNDAY Next Sunday, May 6, the Immaculata Militia will host Hospitality Sunday. Coffee, juice and donuts will be served after the 8:30am and 10:30am Masses. Please plan to share in this time of community fellowship.

CLOTHING COLLECTION The Ladies Auxiliary are again sponsoring a Clothing drive during the month of April. Please bring clean, used Men’s, Women’s & youth clothing, jackets, coats, shoes, hats, belts, purses to the hall across from the re-strooms off the Gather space during the month of April. The proceeds of the items collected benefit the Blisters for Sisters, a fund raiser for the Women Religious of the metropolitan area. APRIL/BABY SHOWERS As a culmination of the Spiritual Adoption Program we are inviting ALL parishioners to bring New Baby Items to the Pack-n-Play in the Gather Space the weekends of April 21st-22nd and April 28th-29th.
Items needed, but not limited to; newborn/ infant sleep-ers/clothing, baby bath items, pacifiers, bottles, bibs, pac-ifier clips, “sun hats”, and diapers size preemie through size 5, to name a few. As part of our celebration, the La-dies Auxiliary will be offering cupcakes to all the week-end of April 28th-29th.

SHRIMP BOIL THANK YOU The scouts, parents, and leaders of Troop/Pack 98 wish to thank the Knights of Columbus for allowing the boys to participate again this year in the annual shrimp boil. The boys worked a total of 83 hours between setting up, serv-ing, and cleanup over the course of the Lenten season. The generosity of the Knights will help go towards scout camp fees and spending money for the boys this summer.
GOLDEN WEDDING CELEBRATION A Mass honoring all couples in the diocese celebrating 50 years of marriage in the year 2018 will be celebrated by Bishop Johnston at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. The liturgy will be followed with a dessert reception. This celebra-tion will include all couples who have celebrated or will be celebrating their Golden Wedding Anniversary be-tween January 1, 2018 and December 31, 2018. If you were married in 1968, please call the parish office this week so that you can be acknowledged. You will be acknowledged even if you cannot attend the event.

VOLUNTEERS WANTED The Social Service Ministry Council is in need of parish volunteers to provide CHILDCARE for the children of the current evening ESL group. The group meets on Wednesdays, from 6-7:30pm, in the Spanish room in St. Regis School. You would be providing childcare for a small group of children of various ages. Volunteers must be a minimum of 18years of age. In addition, we will need record of the completion of the Protecting God’s Children class. ADULT CONFIRMATION Bishop Johnston will celebrate the Sacrament of Confir-mation for adults over the age of 21 who have not yet been confirmed on Wednesday, June 6, at 7pm at the Ca-thedral. BLISTERS FOR SISTERS The Blisters for Sisters Walk is on Saturday, May 5th, at St. Thomas More Church, 11822 Holmes Rd., KCMO. Registration and check-in is 9-10am. The Walk starts at 10am. Mass will be at 11am followed by lunch. Regis-tration includes: T-shirt, Walk, Mass and lunch with the Sisters.
