The Feast of Divine Mercy is
Celebrated today!
“The Soul that will go to confession
and receive Holy Communion on that day shall obtain complete for-giveness of sins and punishment.”
The celebration of this important feast – and all of the extraordinary graces Our Lord promised the faithful – are available to us on this day – despite the Covid19 pandemic! To receive these extraordinary graces, one must make a heartfelt act of contrition (detesting your sins with resolution to sin no more) and spiritual communion (asking God to come into your heart to receive the grace had you received Holy Communion sacramentally) with the full intention to return to the sacraments of Confession and Eucharist as soon as it is available to the faithful! Further information on the St Paul’s Divine Mercy Prayer Service, celebrated on Sunday, April 19th, will be announced via parish email/app notification. *Divine Mercy Sunday celebrates the great graces that are availa-ble to us through our Risen Lord’s victory over sin, death, and satan. Our Lord gave revelations about His mercy to St. Faustina, including the flood of mercy which is available on this day “for all souls, espe-cially for poor sinners”. ‘‘On one occasion, I heard these words’: My daughter, tell the whole world about My inconceivable mercy. I desire that the Feast of Mercy be a refuge and a shelter for all souls, and especially for poor sinners. On that day the very depths of My tender mercy are open. I pour out a whole ocean of graces upon those souls who approach the Fount of My Mercy. The soul that will go to Confession and re-ceive Holy Communion shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment. On that day all the divine floodgates through which graces flow are opened. Let no soul fear to draw near to Me, even though its sins be as scarlet. My mercy is so great that no mind, be it of man or of angel, will be able to fathom it throughout all eternity. Everything that exists has come forth from the very depths of My most tender mercy. Every soul in its relation to Me will contemplate My love and mercy throughout eternity. The Feast of Mercy emerged from My very depths of tenderness. It is my desire that it be sol-emnly celebrated on the first Sunday after Easter. Mankind will not have peace until it returns to the Fount of My Mercy. Project Rachel began over fifteen years ago for women, men & families who have been affected by abortion. Not only does the Church speak the truth about abortion to men & women contemplating this action, but it is also a place of healing: “If you have had an abortion, God’s mercy is great enough to forgive that, too.” Jesus offers for-giveness & healing: the hope and promise of resurrection and reunion with the child who is waiting for his parents in heaven. People who call Project Rachel are offered referrals to profes-sional counselors or to priests specially trained for guidance and the Sacrament of Reconciliation. But basically everyone in the Church is a part of Project Rachel. Everyone is a part of the healing ministry of Christ. You may know someone who has had an abortion. You never accuse or confront.
