On February 15 the grade 4S class went to Birds Hill Park to
meet their Skype pals from Neil Campbell School. Students
participated in a Sharing Circle. Then they went outside to
smudge. After that they were divided into 5 groups and dis-
cussed, shared ideas and thoughts about Respect from the
Seven Teachings. Students also had to present their group
findings. This was conducted by an Anishinabe elder from the
River East School Division. While these groups were discuss-
ing Respect other groups participated in a snowshoe activity in
the bush. All the students got to be part of both indoor and
outdoor activities. At lunch students roasted wieners on an
open fire. Food was provided by Neil Campbell School. After
lunch all the students had fun doing outdoor games until it was
time to leave. Students were well behaved and had a wonder-
ful time, with some even exchanging phone numbers with the
class. Thanks to Cliff Courchene for driving the bus to Birds
Hill Park and doing the group smudge. Also thank you to Do-
novan, Josh and Mrs. Demeria for providing this opportunity
for the class.
