The main location of the camp is based primarily in the school compound. In these places, fire preventive measures are already well in placed. ii. Safety Plans

A Medical Chart would be created consisting of

! Treatment procedures for minor injuries.

! Steps to follow in case of injuries. (What to do depending on situation)

! Emergency evacuation routes. The route would be drawn up once the venue is finalized. ! Contact numbers of the children parents, for easier reference.

This medical chart will be issued to the group leaders and other personnel of concern.

First-Aid Kit A minimal first aid kit will be provided for each group.

! Consisting of bandages, antiseptic cream, and thermometer.

! For treatment of minor injuries

All volunteers are required to keep track of the participant’s well being throughout the camp.

Allocation of Safety Personnel Each group would be provided with safety personnel to be responsible for safety.

Sickbay A sickbay would be used to isolate participants who are not feeling well.

NUSSU Van / Ambulance The van when not in use would back up as a mean of transport to evacuate a casualty to the

hospital. In the absence of a van, either a taxi or ambulance would be called, depending on the seriousness of the injury.

iii. Procedures Minor Injuries To be treated by volunteers in charge or safety personnel in charge of group.

Intermediate injuries * To seek treatment from the safety personnel.

Evacuation to hospital or clinic depends on severity of injury after treatment.

Serious Injuries * An ambulance would be called immediately.

The safety personnel would be attending to the casualty before the ambulance arrives.

Illnesses * The casualty would be isolated in the sickbay until the parents can pick the casualty.

The casualty would be constantly monitored and if the situation worsens, he/she would be

evacuated to hospital.

* - The parents of the affected person will be contacted immediately.
