samos pro is the most compact and fastest modular compact safety control for the monitoring and control of mechanical and system engineering applications for up to Category 4 (EN954-1), PLe (EN13849-1) and SIL3 (EN62061). samos pro helps you to implement extensive and complex applications with the highest safety requirements where conventional relay tech-nology reaches its limits.

samos net modular system conceptswith comprehensive safety functions can be implemented through safe interconnection. Up to four systems can communicate with each other safely.

Modular expandability in systems:

The modular design enables efficient use even for small applications. Even in its most compact configuration, up to four safety switching devices can be replaced (at a width of 45 mm). This significantly reduces the amount of cabling required.

The fast shut-off function enables a reaction time of 8 ms. The fast reaction time increases safety and enables shorter distances (e.g. according to EN 13855) between the sensors (light curtain) and the danger area.

So you also save costs and space here.

The tested outputs enable applications up to Category 4.

The modular design also enables expansion at a later stage and therefore flexible planning with a reduced variety of module versions. Easier handling and logistics.

You only pay for what you really need.

The simulation of the programmed logic enables initial testing without hardware. Software errors can be excluded as early as during start-up.

This saves time during the validationof the program.

The benefits: Safety, convenience and efficiency

Logic functions for the monitoring of valves and contactors enable a pro-active diagnosis.Necessary maintenance operations can be indicated at an early stage.

Downtimes are minimized.

A comprehensive function block library is available. Repeated functions can be stored as individual blocks. Blocks for muting and pressing mean that separate hardware is no longer necessary.

Inflexible hardware is replaced by parameterizable function blocks.

All standard sensors can be connected, irrespective of manufacturer. samos pro adjusts itself to everysensor.

Expensive, special evaluation units are nolonger necessary.

A comprehensive report is generated automatically. The good logic readability also facilitates subsequent expansion and the validation of safety functions.

This supports standard-compliant documentation.

Gateways enable bi-directional communication (50 Byte). Even for varying control environments, this means: Safety technology can be generated and then documented once.

Integration into various field buses is possible without any difficulty.

An error memory in the controller also enables the subsequent readout of error conditions (discrepancy times, procedure errors, crossovers); a time stamp is specified. Self-defined messages are also possible.

This facilitates troubleshooting, even in the event of a manipulation attempt.

The use of Ethernet gateways enables remote maintenance and remote programming.

Technicians are no longer required to make expensive, time-consuming trips.

Pluggable coded screw terminals and spring-clamp terminals are available for connection.

This saves time when it comes toinstallation and servicing.

The memory plug contains the program protected by you and remains firmly wired in the control cabinet, so it cannot get lost.

This facilitates servicing.

Remote maintenance / remote programming

Signals that are physically not present are ge- nerated online by a forcing mode. This prevents bypassed safety switches during start-up.

This increases safety and saves time.

The Wieland SISTEMA library enables the easy selection of samos pro modules and therefore the calculation of the PL reached according to EN13849-1.
