MANAGER, Community Plus+ SACS AWARD - LEVEL 6 30.4 hours per week Community Plus+ are looking for a Manager to lead our Community Plus+ team. This is an exciting opportunity for a person who is passionate about community and interested in working with an organisation that is going through a period of change and renewal. ABOUT COMMUNITY PLUS+ A not-for-profit community development organisation based in the southern suburbs of Brisbane, Community Plus+ has a vision of Strong Centres for Active Communities. Community Plus+ works with local people and their key strengths, resources and capacities in order to increase the wellbeing of all. We are part of creating communities that are equal, connected and empowered. Community Plus+ delivers social inclusion and community development services from facilities in Annerley, Yeronga and West End. The centres, off-site programs and services are run as a combination of centre-based and outreach work. This includes Community Plus+ Queensland Tenant Advice and Referral Services on Brisbane’s south-side operating out of the Community Plus+ centres and at a variety of outreach sites. Community Plus+ offers community information and referral, community development, social enterprise opportunities, tenancy advice and local meeting and venue hire spaces including West End Croquet Club in South Brisbane. Community Plus+ is a collaborative organisation where you can make a difference, and is governed by a skills-based committee. The work of Community Plus+ is guided by its desired future state: We are a visible and approachable community asset. We champion community life. ABOUT THE MANAGER

TheprimaryroleoftheManager isto leadtheorganisationtoensuretheeffectivedeliveryoftheorganisation’s programs in accordance with our desired future state. The Manager providesstrengths-based support and leadership to Community Plus+ staff to deliver these programs.Currently this includes 14 permanent and some casual staff across the programs. Following theOrganisationalAlignmentprocesstherehavebeensomechangesinCommunityPlus+structureandresource allocation, and the Manager will play a key role in bedding down these organisationalchanges,and supporting staffas theymove intonew rolesandnewwaysofworking.CommunityPlus+ has adopted a highly consultative approach to organisational leadership, and there is anexpectationthatthiswillcontinue,withdecision-makingprocessesthatrespecttheknowledgeandexperienceofstaff,whilefreeingthemuptofocusontheirday-to-daywork.Community Plus+ invests in key relationships with a variety of stakeholders including theDepartmentofCommunities,TenantsQueensland,BrisbaneCityCouncil,othercommunityserviceproviders including the Southside Community Impact Group, social enterprises, businesses andphilanthropicorganisations.AkeycomponentoftheManager’sroleistonurturerelationshipswiththese stakeholders with a view to positioning Community Plus+ for a sustainable future. TheManageralsohasakeyroletoplayastheinterfacewiththeManagementCommittee,avolunteergroup of 11 committed individuals who provide support, advice and governance to ensure asustainablefutureforCommunityPlus+. DutiesInternalLeadership

• LeadtheCommunityPlus+team,ensuringeffectivecommunicationandcoordinationacrossCommunityPlus+ locationsandprograms,andsupportingacohesive,collegiateworkplaceculture.

• Manage the day-to-day operations of Community Plus+, includingmanagement of overallstaffwell-being,staffhoursleaveandrostering,andWorkplaceHealthandSafety,andworkwithstafftotrouble-shootissuesastheyarise.

• Participate in staff recruitment and performance review activities and provide leadership,regularsupervisionandsupporttostafftoensurethathighquality,consistentandculturallyappropriatesupportisbeingdeliveredtoallclients.

• ProvidepracticeleadershipinrelationtothedeliveryofCommunityPlus+programs.• Workwith relevantCommitteeportfolio leads to identify andaddress importantpolicyor

systems gaps, and support the implementation and maintenance of effective systems,processes,policiesandproceduresacrosstheorganisation.

• Develop and implement innovative implementation responses and strategies to ensurecontinuousimprovementinCommunityPlus+programsanddelivervaluetostakeholders.

• Manage theCommunityPlus+budget,within the frameworkof the scheduleof approveddelegations.

• Demonstrateandfosteradherencetoriskmanagementpoliciesandproceduresacrossstaffandvolunteers.

Externalleadership• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders, including

government, and the community and business sectors, ensuring that the organisation, its

valuepropositionand itspurpose,programsand functionsare consistentlypresented inastrong,positivelight

• Identifyopportunitiesforandprogresspartnerships, inconsultationwiththeManagementCommittee

• RepresentCommunityPlus+atvariouslevelsofthecommunityandgovernmentsectors,asdirectedbytheManagementCommittee
