For over 20 years we, the parishioners of Sacred Heart, have been participating in the Monroe CROP Hunger Walk which raises funds for hunger and disaster relief around the world. Due to the pandemic, the need is even greater than ever. While the official date of the walk is October 25, Walk Coordinator Fred Scheupfer noted that walkers can choose any day and time to walk the Millponds in Monroe – or any other site they choose since this year the CROP Hunger Walk will be virtual for safety sake. To register for the walk and to raise funds online go to Register for a CROP Hunger Walk (video): https://yutu.be/a0mfwOvh1QQ. It will take you through the process. Twenty-five percent of the funds raised are distributed to local food pantries. Only online donations can designate a particular charity to receive their funds. We recommend designating Catholic Relief Services (CRS) as the recipient of the funds we raise. This is a great service opportunity for Confirmation 1 and Confirmation 2 candidates. We still are in need of ushers for Masses. If you are interested in volunteering, please call the parish office. We especially need your help for the Saturday 5:30 pm Mass and the Sunday 6:00 pm Mass. _____________________________________________ If you would like to keep up to date on parish news, sign up for Sacred Heart’s Flocknotes/Email. Fill out the form below and drop it in the collection baskets during Mass on Sundays.

  • Goodbye from Betsy Johnston

October 1, 2020 To all of at Sacred Heart Parish: It is with a humble heart of thankfulness to have had the honor of serving Sacred Heart Parish as the Director of Parish Outreach for the past eleven and a half years. Sacred Heart has been my home and all of you have been family to me. We have gone through many wonderful times together and have shared some sorrowful times. I can proudly say that because of yyour generosity, whether through your steadfast volunteerism, financial contributions, or prayerful support, Sacred Heart Parish has been a beacon of hope to those in need. No one has ever been turned away from our doors. Sacred Heart has provided the community with everything from spiritual guidance and sacraments to offering nourishing meals and food, clothing, furniture, and household items, helping with rental assistance, immigration and offering the opportunity for community service! My heart overflows when witnessing your living out the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and following His mandate to feed the hungry, clothe the naked and shelter the homeless. Our Parish and Outreach Programs seek to continue to “Build a Community of Hope!” If there is a person in need, just ask anyone and they will tell them to “Go to Sacred Heart, they will help you!” What a fabulous reputation to have! It is my fervent prayer that Our Lord will bountifully bless you and yours as you continue to serve Him joyfully. I hope you will join me in welcoming our new Director, Kimberly Gutman, and pray for her as she begins her ministry here at Sacred Heart. I have no doubt that all will be well as I leave her with Assistant to the Director, Ellen Kirk, who continues to work tirelessly and with the heart of a servant as well as all our precious volunteers. Thank you for allowing me to serve Christ. I will continue to pray for you all with a heart filled with gratitude. I love you, Betsy Johnston
