Please pray for... Sacred Heart School News… Thank you to everyone who purchased raffle tickets for our recent PTC Summer/Fall Giveaway. The winners' ticket stubs were pulled at our Open House Tuesday and will be posted in next week's bulletin. The annual SHS Blessing of the

Animals will take place on Thursday, October 1, at 8:00am on the back lot of the school. Parishioners are welcome to bring their pets on a leash or in a pet carrier for this special blessing. The blessing will be held early because the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi actually falls on October 4 which is Sunday this year. For the first time ever, SHS students and staff will be on Fall Break October 5-9. Almost all of the schools in the Diocese of Corpus Christi take a fall break. The school calendar still has the required 180 school days. The next Advisory Council meeting will be held on Monday, October 12, at 5:15pm in the library. Retreat weekend Oct. 8-11, 2015 at Camp Aranzazu.

The cost of the Retreat is $160. A $50 registration fee/deposit should be submitted to

hold your spot. Registration forms are available at the Church Office and at the

Church. The balance is due at the Thursday check-in Oct. 8.

Those whom the community has designated to serve as catechists have been called forth to be commissioned for

their ministry. Catechetical Sunday was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the role that each person plays, by virtue of Baptism, in handing on the faith and being a

witness to the Gospel. Catechetical Sunday is an opportunity for all to rededicate themselves to this

mission as a community of faith.
