SCRIPTURE READING REFLECTION
The resurrection from the dead of Jesus Christ is the greatest event in all human history! The remembrance and celebration of it, by far the most important of the entire year. Why? Let’s have a little theological reflection. E.g. we say that in Divine Providence, Mary, Jesus’ mother, was conceived without original sin and lived without personal sin. Therefore, she was not subject to death, as all sinners are, but instead of dying, was assumed into heaven. A fortiori, Jesus, whose sole source of humanity was the sinless Mary, was born without original sin and lived without personal sin. Note well, He was not on the road to death as all the rest of us are. Rather, death was imposed upon Him by sinful humans. He was murdered, inflicted with the experience of dying, not simply because He was innocent, but because He otherwise would not have died. He died because of sins, but our sins, not His own. In the agony of the garden, He agreed to suffer and die for our sins. But that was not the end of it. He came back to life – to bodily existence, but not the same old, same old, like Lazarus. We, who live in union with the Resurrected Christ are His Mystical Body, now living in other times and places. In sharing His Resurrected life, we too, share in and with and through Christ, His Resurrection. There has been and continues to be nothing like this gift of a life which overcomes death in any other event in human history. Hallelujah!!
EASTER SUNDAY APRIL 12, 2020
SCHOOL NEWS Several of our current and upcoming fundraisers will
need to be adjusted in response to the closure of school.
The March Madness Raffle drum will remain safely locked
within the school office until the students have returned and
we will resume pulling our daily winners at that time.
The Annual Auction of May 9th, our largest fundraiser of
the year, has been postponed due to the CDC’s eight week
hold on venues of hosting more than 50 people. We are
currently working on the possibility of acquiring a date in
June. We are also exploring other options that would allow
us to make the gifts that we have received available for the
general public.
REGISTRATION FOR 2020-2021
When school re-opens our registration for the 2020-2021 school
year will continue for UPK 4 year old, Early Childhood 3-4 year
old and grades K-6. We know that you will be amazed at all of
the wonderful things that are happening here in your school!
Please be assured the Mass Intentions that are scheduled will be offered. Fr. Yanas will be
celebrating a private Mass. You can see the Mass in the evening on: sacredhearttroy.com
and Facebook.
Our Altar Bread and Wine for the month of April has been
gifted in memory of Doris Carey by Husband, Ed and
Daughter, Kathleen.
