UPCOMING SECOND COLLECTIONS
June 8 & 9 Peter’s Pence
The Peter’s Pence Collection enables the Holy Father to respond with
emergency financial assistance to requests to aid the neediest
throughout the world—those who suffer as a result of war,
oppression, and natural disasters. It likewise provides the faithful with
a tangible opportunity to not only empower the weak, defenseless,
and voiceless, but also sustain those who suffer.

Digital Giving Notice! For the last year, the Diocese of
Wheeling Charleston has underwritten our digital giving
program ParishSoft Giving. They hoped to encourage
parishioners to use electronic giving. However, for our parish,
the many who participate in electronic giving, use their own
banks to send the church electronic checks. Effective June 1,
2019, we will no longer accept donations through the ParishSoft
Giving program. For the few of you who did use this program,
we hope you will not be inconvenienced by its cancellation and
we encourage you to look into electronic banking. There is no
cost to the church when done through your bank. If you have
any questions, please give Kim a call in the church office.

for 2019 is $24,395. The first 50% of the goal
supports many ministries, services, and programs
in the diocese. Every dollar over 50% of the goal
comes back to the parish to assist us in our many
needs. As of this date, we have reached 63% of our
goal in the amount of $15,489. This total is from
21 parishioners / families that have sent in their
gift thus far. Please remember to send in your
gift, no matter what the amount. All gifts, large
or small, joined together can do great and
marvelous things!

The Knights of Columbus are sponsoring John
Soplinski of Weirton, WV through the Knights of
Columbus RSVP (Refund Support Vocations
Program). Under this program our local council
will donate $500 to our seminarian and the
Supreme Council will refund $100 to us. In
addition to the financial support we are asked to
provide moral / spiritual support to our
seminarian.
We have decided to ask the parishioners to
participate by offering rosaries, personal Mass
intentions, Prayers (Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory
Be, etc.) or fasting (from food, TV, social media,
etc.). We also ask that cards and letters of
encouragement be sent. Seminarian John
Soplinski’s address is located at the bottom of this
message.
We will have a tally sheet in the back of the
church for parishioners to record the totals of their
spiritual acts. Then we will send the totals along
with the donation to our seminarian.
The program will continue until the end of June.
Thank you in advance for your support of this
program.
