The Annual General Meeting of the Society of St Vincent de Paul The Annual General Meeting [AGM] of the Society of St Vincent de Paul will be held next Tuesday evening [June 28th] at 6:00 pm in the Drop-In Centre at 1220 Second Avenue. The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul is an international, lay Catholic, service organization dedicated to helping anyone in need. Our mission is to live the Gospel message by serving Christ in the poor with love, respect, justice, and joy. Worldwide we have existed since 1833 and in Prince George since the early 1980’s. Services include meals, hampers, support finding resources, clothing, home furnishings, and a warm and safe place to gather. As Pope Francis said on April 11, 2015 when announcing a Holy Year of Mercy: “For this reason, the Holy Year must keep alive the desire to know how to welcome the numerous signs of the tenderness which God offers to the whole world and, above all, to those who suffer, who are alone and abandoned, without hope of being pardoned or feeling the Father’s love.” The AGM is a means of informing the public and volunteers of what we’ve accomplished in this past year and to plan for the com-ing year. We invite YOU to come to the AGM next Tuesday to learn more about the Society and how we, the parishioners of Prince George, can ensure we continue to live out the Gospel and our corporal works of mercy through the needy in our midst. Be the Face of Mercy in this Jubilee of Mercy.

“For even as the body without the spirit is dead; so also faith without works is dead.” John 2:26
