Today we are going to learn how to draw scattergraphs.

Scattergraphs 27.3.2014

A scattergraph is a graph that compares two sets of data that affect

each other (correlate).

The data is positively correlated if one increases as the other increases.

e.g. sales of ice-creams and temperature.

The data is negatively correlated if as one increases the other

decreases. e.g. heating usage and temerature outside.

The line of best fit on a scatter graph roughly goes through the

middle of all the points on the graph.

group of students.

Today we will be learning about Hire Purchase.

Hire Purchase 24.4.2014

Purchasing an item on Hire Purchase is a type of borrowing. It means that

you hiring the item until you have it fully paid for.

Normally buying an item through HP is more expensive.

You pay a deposit and then monthly repayments until you have paid fully for

the item, you may then choose to purchase it or return it to the owner.


Example:

Jessica sees a laptop she would like to buy. The cash price is £890 or she can

buy it on HP for a deposit of £250 and 18 monthly instalments of £42.

How much more does the laptop cost on HP?
