An Epistle from Paul: He IS the Resurrection and the Life – A young preacher was called upon to preach his first funeral. This preacher set to work in preparation for this message. His first thought was to go to the four Gospels and use one of the Lord’s funeral sermons. Sounds like a good place to start, right? Wrong! You see, this preacher found out the Lord didn’t preach funerals; instead, He broke them up! This should come as no surprise to us. Matthew 22:32 says, “I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. He is not the God of the dead but of the living.” It was our Lord speaking to Martha in John 11:25, “Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me shall live even if he dies…’” After Sir Walter Raleigh was beheaded they found these striking lines, written the night before his death: Even such is time, that takes in trust Our youth, our joys, our all we have, And pays us but with age and dust; Who in the dark and silent grave, When we have wandered all our ways, Shuts up the story of our days. But from this earth, this grave, this dust, My God shall raise me up, I trust. I know little of Raleigh’s faith, but, this much I know he must have been a man of faith to have written these lines in the night before he was to be beheaded! Let me use all the above to amplify the historical truth that our Lord IS the resurrection and the life! In Him alone do we have hope and promise and in Him alone are we assured that we will be risen again, given new glorified bodies to be used in eternity!! An Epistle from Paul:He IS the Resurrection and the Life – A young preacher was called upon to preach his first funeral.

He is not the God of the dead but of the living.” It was our Lord speaking to Martha in John 11:25, “Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me shall live even if he dies…’”

After Sir Walter Raleigh was beheaded they found these striking lines, written the night before his death:

Even such is time, that takes in trustOur youth, our joys, our all we have,And pays us but with age and dust;Who in the dark and silent grave,

When we have wandered all our ways,Shuts up the story of our days.

But from this earth, this grave, this dust,My God shall raise me up, I trust.

Resurrection Sunday Next Week! The day will begin with our gathering at the building at 8 AM for our SonRise Assembly. This will be a half hour of songs, prayer, readings, visuals and other matters to help us focus on the most important event in history – the Bodily Resurrection of Christ our Lord!. We will then retreat to the kitchen area to enjoy a thoroughly delicious breakfast time… We will then gather for Bible School at 9:30 with morning worship at 10:30. We will gather around the Lord’s Table, as we do each first day of the week, and we will sing, pray and lift our voices of praise and

Western Buckeye Christian Camp Brochures!

We are trying to “get the jump” on this year’s schedule for Christian Camp. New brochures are out on the table in the foyer. These will give the detail concerning this summer’s schedule for Western Buckeye Christian Camp (Houston, OH). The church will again be paying full tuition for each of our young people attending this year. A better deal, you will find nowhere else! How we want to urge and encourage our young people to take advantage of this great experience. Ask anyone who has been to Christian Camp in their lifetime and see if they have anything but good to say about it!!!

Meeting to be Held in Near Future!

Three of our ladies have graciously said they would lead this year’s VBS effort – Jalynn Cunningham, Jennifer Eby, and Angel Mills. But many more workers will be needed

to make this effort work. A meeting in the next couple of weeks will be held right after morning worship. Please plan to attend this meeting and let it be known then how you will be willing and able to help. We’ll be announcing soon when this meeting happens!!!

(by no means an exhaustive list)

Military Personnel: Zachary Claywell, Austin Brasher, and Stephen Watts…Recovering and Other Matters: Doris Childers, Betty and Cronley Teater, Jeanie Laubauch, Emma Grace Mills, Reva Cole, Dan Swihart, Monte Rieger, Dottie Campbell, Pam Kauslick, Eddie Johnson, Jack/John Rowell, Tammy Dunaway, Anna Eiford, Connie Moore, Barry Rieger, David Ramey, Connie Martin, Charles Claywell, Kevin Nolan, Jacque Marker, Emma Sartain, Daryl McKee, Evelyn Davis, Bryson Masten (8 yr old burned), Greg Watts, Martha Gabbard, Dealing With Cancer: Dalene McIntire, Rita Culp, Judy Riley, George Collins, Steve Abernathy, Chuck Paul, and Evert Synder…

A Serious Fallacy!Do you see/understand the serious fallacy in this saying? It should be clear that all sin is serious. How do we know this to be true? The Bible, through all 66 books, says so! From the Old Testament and the seriousness of sin being amplified to the Israelites in the many animal sacrifices God required them to do…

all the way to the New Testament where Jesus Christ was “…made sin to be sin for us.” All sin is serious because sin is what separates us from God…; sin is what made it necessary for Jesus to be made sin for us on Calvary…; sin is what threatens our peace with God! Again, do you see/understand the fallacy in this saying? We pray you do!
