portrait drawing and will develop their drawings into a self portrait inspired by the work of Vincent Van Gogh

possibilities within the natural landscape - observational drawing, exploring colour through paint which will progress on to a Hundertwasser inspired print.

• African Mask 3DDesign Pupil research African Art/Culture and

develop their own body of research and development from a chosen brief. Pupils will explore form, shape, colour and pattern. They will make a 3D model mask using modroc.

• Introduction to Drawing Pupils will develop their analytical drawing

skills using a range of subject matter and materials.

• Expressive Portraiture drawing Pupils will understanding proportion and

scale through the use of tone to create a convincing 3D form.

• Press Printing, Mono Printing Pupil will choose a man made or natural

theme, produced development ideas and a final printed repeat pattern.

Pupils will use a variety of media and visual elements to respond to each of these projects. Media such as collage & batik may be explored.

explores form and colour. They will look at the communicative power of masks, and use African culture and design as inspiration.

‘my hero’ Pupils are using colour mixing and pattern to

• Pop Art – 2D Design Pupils will look at the language of Pop Art

and study the links with Literacy. This will be developed into a piece of Graphics and a comic strip.

• Portraiture - Research Consolidation of the principles of

proportion. Pupils will produce a range of portrait studies and develop techniques in using pencil, charcoal and paint.

• Portraiture – Development/Final Solution Development of the visual elements and

media to create 2 ideas for a self portrait using mixed media.

• Critical Art Studies – Powerpoint/Essays - Study of 2 artists and their associated

movements. Work will comprise of mindmaps, written evaluations and a short essay.

- Pupils will study 2 art movements and focus on the approach to landscape painting. This will develop into a large scale expressive landscape.
