Welcome to our2020-2021
SEMINAR SERIES The Colorado Prosthodontic Society is now over 100 years in existence. The Society has survived past global pandemics, economic depressions and world wars. The Colorado Prosthodontic Society will survive the COVID-19 pandemic and hopefully continue on for hundreds of additional years. The Colorado Prosthodontic Society board of directors and I would like to invite you to continue your membership or join new for our exciting 2020-2021 seminar series. Our six programs will provide a variety of topics with a focus on up to date trends and techniques in modern dentistry.
In consideration of the current global pandemic, the restrictions on gatherings set in place by the office of the governor and our general concern for the health and well-being of our members, the Colorado Prosthodontic Society board of directors has unanimously elected to have the 2020-2021 lecture series held virtually. This decision was not taken lightly as one of the biggest perks of membership is the camaraderie and interactions held at our meetings and lunches. This switch to a virtual lecture series is planned this year only, with a return to our normal in-person meetings next year. Lectures will be held on Monday afternoons from 2pm – 5pm Mountain Standard Time and can be viewed from any computer, tablet or smartphone. Lectures will still remain engaging, interactive and will be delivered by some of the world’s foremost leaders in dentistry. This is a great opportunity to renew your membership, sign up for the first time, or share our wonderful society with a friend. Do not skip out on this year, please continue your support of the Colorado Prosthodontic Society!
The Colorado Prosthodontic Society is committed to science and practice-based continuing education without corporate influence. It is my desire for every dentist who attends our seminar series that they will pick up some pearls to bring back to their practices so they can provide the highest level of care possible to their patients. I look forward to another great year!

ONE-DAY DENTAL MBA
• This course will provide the tools needed to help build a rewarding, meaningful and profitable dental office. Applying these tools provides the ultimate staffing formula to create high energy for performance under stress, while still achieving daily goals. In addition, teaching how to control your account receivables with bonuses, and the three things you manage: people, time and money. These practices will ultimately turn patients into raving fans.
• Dr. Farran’s “One-Day Dental MBA” lecture shows how you can help build a remarkable dental office that will make a difference to your community. Spend the day learning practical hands-on applications that can be immediately translated to your own practice, no matter what your role is in the dental office.
• Howard Farran, DDS, MBA, is a practicing dentist & noted international lecturer with over two decades of experience. He graduated from UMKC School of Dentistry, and earned his MBA from ASU. ANTERIOR ESTHETIC IMPLANTS: WHAT I HAVE LEARNED OVER THE YEARS
• Perfecting the anterior tooth replacement with a dental implant has always posed a great challenge. Given the introduction of many new techniques, what tricks do we have readily available in 2020? Topics such as immediate placement, immediate provisionalization, partial extraction therapy are being discussed more often. Are these cutting-edge techniques backed up by scientific rationale and principles? Are these predictable? Can we maintain the most esthetic anterior implant restoration with confidence? When do we say let’s extract, and when can we maintain?
• Lecture Outline:
• - Understand the clinical requirements for cosmetically pleasing ideal anterior dental implant restoration
• - Understand how “immediates” contribute to successful outcome: immediate placement, immediate provisionalization & immediate loading
• - Discuss various flap and incision designs that achieve soft tissue outcome in the anterior region
• - Discuss materials and methods available in contemporary clinical setting
• - Discuss the long term maintenance protocol for dental implants for the anterior esthetic region

Using Botox, Dermal Fillers, and PDO Threads for Therapeutic and
Esthetic Dentistry
• This course will teach the use of botulinum neurotoxin (Botox), dermal fillers and solid filler PDO threads for esthetic and therapeutic uses in the oral and maxillofacial areas. These uses include treating dental and facial esthetics, gummy smiles, lip enhancements, midface volumization to establish proper lip and smile lines, TMJ syndrome, orofacial pain, esthetic headache treatment, dental sleep medicine, bruxism, and so much more. Botox, dermal fillers and PDO Threads give dental clinicians highly successful non-surgical, minimally invasive options for some of the most frustrating esthetic and orofacial pain challenges in every practice and have changed the face of dentistry forever.
• Dr. Louis Malcmacher is a practicing general dentist in Cleveland, Ohio and an internationally known lecturer and author, known for his comprehensive and entertaining style. Dr. Malcmacher has served as a spokesman for the AGD and as a consultant to the Council of Dental Practice of the ADA. He is President of the American Academy of Facial Esthetics (AAFE). Dr. Malcmacher has been named as a Leader in Continuing Education by Dentistry Today for the 20th straight year. For over three decades, Dr. Malcmacher has inspired his audiences to truly enjoy doing dentistry by providing the knowledge necessary for excellent clinical and practice management.

FROM CONCEPT, TO PROTOTYPE, TO RESTORATION; CPR FOR THE
WORN DENTITION
• Dr. Hartlieb lectures extensively to dentists throughout the US on the art and science of anterior and posterior direct resin techniques. As a consultant for many dental manufacturers, Dr. Hartlieb is influential in the design of materials widely used in restorative dentistry. His dentistry has been seen in many dental publications and he has contributed articles on his techniques in restorative dentistry. Dr. Hartlieb was named as one of 5 people to watch in dentistry by Dental Products Report.
• Management of the patient with the worn dentition is a challenge many restorative dentists are faced with in their practices. The etiology of the wear appears to be multi-factorial and the occurrence of wear cases seems to be increasing, both in severity and in the number of patients presenting with these issues. The traditional strategy of utilizing a pre-operative wax-up and going directly to preparation of the teeth for definitive restorations, creates a situation where the dentist is not able to test the planned occlusal and esthetic changes until after tooth preparation is completed. This presentation will review a concept utilizing direct resin bonding in a no-preparation, reversible technique. The direct bonded restorations serve as a prototype, allowing the dentist to work out esthetic, occlusal, functional and phonetic issues with the patient, allowing for more predictable definitive restorations.

THE SHIFT, THE DRAMATIC MOVEMENT TOWARD HEALTH CENTERED DENTISTRY (THE CRITICAL CONNECTION BETWEEN
TMD, AIRWAY & INFLAMMATION)
• Dr.Wilkerson serves as a Senior Faculty/Lecturer and Director of Dental Medicine with the Dawson Academy and has provided 600+ days of lectures and hands on instruction to over 4,000 dentists. Dr. Wilkerson has worked over 35 years seeing thousands of patients suffering with joint problems, bite problems, bruxism, headaches and sleep apnea. He brings clear, straightforward principles and systems that practitioners can understand and implement immediately in the care of patients.
• Drawing from scientific research, expand your influence as true specialists in oral medicine. Learn the common links between bruxism, dental wear and malocclusion, headaches, dysfunctional breathing, sleep apnea, gastric reflux, ADHD and TMD that are rarely recognized in the medical community. Discover how you can help patients, neighbors and family. Gain a detailed checklist that can be easily incorporated into your practice immediately. Receive a decision tree for guiding the best utilization of splint therapy in dentistry. This presentation will be based on the work presented in Witt’s best-selling book entitled, “The Shift” available on Amazon.

~ Biographical sketch ~
The dictionary defines ‘rich’ as “Having or producing a particular thing in large amounts.” That is Dr. Chris Brady’s passion.
As the nationally recognized ‘Rich Dentist Coach & Case Acceptance Expert’, Chris loves helping dentists have or produce large amounts of whatever it is they want—in dentistry and in life. Dr. Chris has developed one of the most effective case acceptance systems that will have patients asking for treatment. No pressure. Not pushy. Just happier patients accepting bigger cases, resulting in fewer days at the office and a happier, better-compensated team.
Dr. Chris teaches more Case Acceptance seminars than any other dentist on the planet. This year, in 2010, he will provide over 75 days of personal seminar coaching for hundreds of his Brady Group members and prospective dental clients across the country. Dr. Brady’s teaching approach is motivating and entertaining. You’ll find yourself laughing and even feeling a bit embarrassed at some of the crazy things we naively do and say to patients.
Dr. Chris is also an author, practice transitions expert, and motivational speaker. He has spoken to groups (AADPA featured speaker. Keynote speaker at the AACD.) all across the United States. His numerous articles can be found in various publications such as Dental Economics, Mentor and Contemporary Dental Aesthetics. He was also an Editorial Board member at Dentist’s Money Digest. Most of all, Dr. Brady is a genuine, generous person eager to share his message with those of his profession with the desire of creating happiness.
Dr. Chris Brady is a Colorado native who currently resides in Colorado Springs. Chris is a graduate from Brigham Young University with a BS degree in Zoology. He then received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1984 from Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas. He opened his practice that same year in Colorado Springs and developed a practice with emphasis on major restorative and cosmetic dentistry.
Dr. Chris is the president and founder of Brady Group LLC. His coaching program has quickly gained popularity with progressive dentists. He and his team teach them how to realize the practice they always envisioned. High profit. Low stress. More vacation time. Highly trained team. Excellent communication and case presentation skills. Low overhead. Dentists and their teams experience unique opportunities for growth that eliminate the “burned out” feeling so common in dentistry today. Call the Brady Group to get you on the road to becoming a rich and happy dentist.

How to lower and/or inactivate MMP activity in order to keep your full bond strength. How to and why you should avoid direct pulp exposures.
2 Biomimetic Analysis Of The Structural Compromise Or Integrity Of The Tooth: The 1-2-3-4 system of predicting when a tooth is at risk of fracture. How to decide when it is best to do: a direct, semi-direct or indirect restoration. How to find and remove cracks into dentin. When to leave cracks in enamel and dentin.

Call the Brady Group to get you on the road to becoming a rich and happy dentist.

viewed from any computer, tablet or smartphone.
• All meetings will begin at 2:00 P.M. and adjourn by 5:00 P.M. MST Mountain Standard Time.
• Each seminar is eligible for 3 hours of continuing dental education. We are an approved AGD provider of CE. AGD endorsement 12/2016 to 12/2020.

After registering for the virtual classroom you will then receive an email with an individual link to join the seminar. It is that easy. Seminars can be viewed by as many Doctors, Staff or family members as desired, but remember, only the single individual registered and attached to the link will receive the CE credits. If multiple doctors or staff in the same office wish to receive the CE credits, they will each need to register and pay for membership and also register and view the seminar on a device through their own individual link.
Approved PACE Program Provider FAGD/MAGD Credit

The Colorado Prosthodontic Society Board of Directors and I would like to welcome you to the 2010-2011 seminar series. Our continuing education program of six seminars includes speakers of the highest caliber from truly diverse professional, academic, and cultural backgrounds.
Our first speaker on September 20th is Dr. David Alleman. Dr. Alleman will present his “Six Lessons of Biomimetic Dentistry,” a new approach to restoring teeth. His approach is something most haven’t seen before. I am also excited to welcome Dr. Norton from England and his presentation on the “BioManagment Complex (BMC)” and its effect on clinical outcomes. We have heard a lot about the downfalls of mini-implants, but Dr. Shatkin in November will present how he has placed thousands with excellent success and present his approach to this controversial discipline. Dr. Sascha Jovanovic needs no introduction and will speak to us about several Implant related topics. He is a highly sought after speaker and I am proud to have him. We have a special treat with Dr. David Clark and his 3D lecture (yes including the glasses) about the “End of the GV Black Era,” and how composites could perhaps be better placed, and an intensive discussion on the devastating crack propagation in teeth. Our seminar series will be completed by Dr. Chris Brady in April and his presentation on Case Acceptance and the things we dentists due to ruin this important “Golden 10 Minutes.” Several of the above mentioned speakers have rounded and changed the way I practice and I am excited to share their knowledge with you.
The Colorado Prosthodontic Society is the longest continuously organized study club in the nation. We are entering our 91st year and I am proud to serve as your President and program chair for the 2010-2011 season. I hope the topics this year provide you with new and enlightening ideas as our profession and materials continue to change. Continuing education is the vehicle in which we advance our profession and I commend you all for continued involvement.
