“Music Notes” From

Lynn Kahler, Director of Music

There are several Emmaus songs that have been written and “Two Were Bound for Emmaus” is one of them. Composer Bob Hurd’s melody has a vaguely Irish air and tells the story of the early resurrection appearances of Jesus after his crucifixion. Enjoy this musical retelling of today's Gospel story.

Parishioners in Wyoming are invited to attend the Life in Christ Lay Leadership Retreat being held near Laramie at St. Wal-burga Abbey. Life in Christ Lay Leadership, under the aegis of the USCCB’s Catholic Rural Life, is opening in Wyoming. Catholic Rural Life is currently bringing this program of evangelization to western Dioceses and will be offering its initial retreat/conference for Wyoming on May 22-24 at St. Walburga Abbey (near Laramie). The national leaders from the Life in Christ Lay Leadership will conduct the retreat. Life in Christ Lay Leadership is a small faith community that is based on an annual formation program that consists of prayer and teachings. This year, the teachings will come from St. Paul’s Letter to the Philippians, the encyclical ‘God is Love’ and the section in the Catechism on The Dignity of the Human Person (CCC 1691ff.). The heart of the program is the people from Catholic Rural Life who make all of this come alive and bring our Church teachings down from libraries into people’s lives and living rooms. If you desire to grow in your understanding of scripture and in the New Evangelization, we encourage you to attend. I invite you to Google “Life in Christ Lay Leadership” for more infor-mation.
