This kickoff to our fall adult education classes will help commemorate the 15 th anniversary of the September 11 attacks as Commander Gallagher addresses the continuing challenges faced by law enforcement and first responders and the role faith plays in his life. Jim Gallagher began his career as an officer with the Phoenix Police Dept. in 1995 and is dedicated to advancing the profession of policing in the community. He is an adjunct faculty member at Arizona State University, teaching an introductory course in Criminal Justice, Police Operations and Management, as well as graduate level courses. As a faculty research associate, his interests include leadership, culture, communication, crisis management, and strategic planning. FOOD BANK UPDATE Sunday morning has taken the lead after

week two of the Mac & Cheese

Challenge to benefit the PV Emergency

Food Bank. Sunday worshippers have

donated 1,819 boxes while the Saturday

service has donated 1,162. That makes a

grand total of 2,981 boxes with two more

weekends to go to claim those bragging

rights! Thank you for your generosity.

CLEAN THOSE CLOSETS! Beginning Sun., Sept. 11, we will accept all

sizes of clothing for La Casa’s annual clothing

drive. You may drop off clothing on Sundays

outside the Sanctuary in the specially-marked

bins or in the church office during the week.

Donations will go to our Shop It for Your Moppet

free clothing exchange and to thrift shops at Palomino and Campo Bello schools.

If you want to participate in Shop It for Your Moppet on Sat., Oct. 8, 8:30-10 am, you

must bring your clothing to the designated table outside the Sanctuary on Sun., Oct. 2,

8 am-noon, or to the Gathering Place (formerly the Gym) on Oct. 4-7 (times below),

where you will receive a ticket for entrance to the swap.

How can you help? Besides donating, you can volunteer to sort clothing on Tuesdays,

Sept. 13, 20, 27, and Oct. 4, from 9-11 am. You can also help set up Shop It for Your

Moppet on the following days:

Tues., Oct. 4, or Wed., Oct. 5 – 9 am-noon or 6:30–8 pm

Thurs., Oct. 6 – 6:30–8 pm
