We’re an informal group that meets on the first Wednesday of each month to have a no-host brunch/luncheon at Gold Dust West.
PD is challenging. Our goals include discussing issues and information relevent to Parkinson’s disease, including family concerns, research trends, mutual support and resources. The group gives many hope,

After-School Crafts: Wednesday, January 16, 3:30 p.m. Youth (ages 5-11) can participate in making crafts. Preregistration is required and starts January 2. Space is limited. Maker Monday: Monday, January 21 (third Monday of each month). Cancelled due to closure of Library for Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. Story Times: Every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 10:30 a.m. Designed for preschoolers (ages 3-5). We read books, sing and dance, and follow up with an art activity. Cowboy Poetry Week—Story Time: January 29-31, Guest Cowboy Poet on Jan 30 Toddler Time: Saturday, January 5 (first Saturday of each month), 10:30 a.m. Designed for babies and toddlers (ages 0-2). We sing songs, play, and read. Tween Book and a Movie: Tuesday, January 29 (last Tuesday of each month), 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. Tweens (ages 10-13) will watch the film “ Jumanji” and then enjoy a lively discussion of the film and the book Jumanji by Chris Van Allsburg . Snacks will be served. Pick up a copy of the book at the Library. LEGO Creations Contest: The Library’s Lego Creations Contest encourages youth and families to create a Lego masterpiece. Winners in each of five categories receive prizes. Pick up a contest packet at the Library or download the packet from the Library’s website. Submit Entries: January 7-19 Voting: January 22-26 Winners Announced: January 28

Heart and Shield: A family violence prevention program
Program Orientation Tuesday, February 5th

9-week program designed to provide survivors of former domestic violence with skillsand resources to strengthen family relationships.
Parent survivors and their children ages birth-18 may participate.
Parents enjoy time to connect, share, and support each other.
Children and teens enjoy hands-on activities that are geared for their age.
Parents learn about communication, children’s development, child guidance, conflictresolution, and maintaining healthy relationships.
Children and teens learn about friendship skills, feelings, self-control, conflict resolution,stress management, and self-esteem.
Each meeting includes a light meal.
