I understand that drop off and pick up can be a busy time, however, there are procedures in place to maintain the safety for all involved. In an effort to maintain a safe environment for our students, I have prepared this letter to inform you of our procedures. While this letter sends a strong message, it is an important one. in previous years there have been numerous close calls that are unacceptable and can be avoided if these procedures are followed, and safety is everyone’s mindset. Handbook: Student IDs (Lanyards)Student safety is extremely important at LCJSMS. While wearing student IDs is common practice atLCJSMS, during the 18-19 school year there were many students that were unprepared with their IDon a regular basis. To discourage this behavior, an outline of consequences has been developed alongwith Summit High School. These consequences will be enforced consistently throughout the Summitsecondary schools. We encourage students to store their lanyards in their lockers overnight to beprepared for each morning. These new procedures were reviewed with students during the rst week of school and take effect onSeptember 9th. For details please review rules in the Student / Parent Handbook under Day to DayOperations. Please encourage your students to maintain their ID and lanyard during this school year.

Chromebook DistributionChromebook Distribution has taken place on Wednesday, September 4th in PE classes. There are a fewreasons why a student might have not been issued a Chromebook on this date:

A parent/guardian has not completed the online re-registration process through PS. A parent/guardian has not completed the user agreements and/or pay the Technology AccessFee.6th Grade Only: A parent/guardian has not completed the residency verication process.

Students under these circumstances have been given notice to the reason during the distributionprocess. As issues are resolved, students will receive their Chromebooks. Questions or concerns, please contact [email protected]. Please note: The main oce staffwill not be able to determine the reason a Chromebook was not distributed. Please contact thetechnology department using the email listed above. In addition, students who turned in a Chromebook last year without a charger were not issued acharger this year.
