The sale starts with a preview party that is free to members of the Friends, or $5 admission, on Thursday evening, Jan. 31. REVIEWS eBooks: I just got an iPad, and I downloaded Overdrive Media Console, registered my Adobe epub account on my iPad, then downloaded a great eBook from the library: Cara Black’s “Murder at the Lanterne Rouge: An Aimee Leduc Investigation.” Aimee and her PI partners Renee and Saj stray away from their usual computer security cases, when Aimee helps Renee track down his missing Chinese immigrant girlfriend, Meizi. She disappears just before a body is discovered in the neighborhood, and Aimee has to win the trust of immigrants with fake papers working in horrible sweatshops in the slums of Paris. The murdered man was friend of Meizi’s, and also a secretive, brilliant engineer working with information found in the archives of the medieval guilds. Fascinating and riveting, you won’t be able to stop reading. This series set in Paris is one of my favorites. We have lots of great books in eBook format: “Thirty Rooms to Hide In” by Luke Longstreet Sullivan; “The Art Forger” by Shapiro; “The Dog Stars” by Peter Heller; “The End of Your Life Book Club” by Will Schwalbe; “The Timekeeper” by Mitch Albom. Yes, these great books all have request lists. You are sent an email as soon as it is available for you to check it out; but you do not have to “pick it up,” you don’t have to return it, and there are no late fees!
