My name is Ryan Baker. I grew up in Tillar, Arkansas, but currently living in Searcy, Arkansas. I will graduate from Harding University with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Graphic Design in July 2011. My style is image dominant with bright colors and in words of some people kind of dark. I’ve always gained inspiration from video games, movies, and nature itself. I’ve travelled abroad, which has boost my experience tremendously. I have worked mostly art jobs, which have given me experience of print, design, and type. I hope you enjoy my portfolio. Thank you!

TrueTalesTrue Tales is brand designed to teach teenagers how they are being targeted by marketers to buy products. The concept is to use the Grimmes Fairy Tales as a metaphor to connect with teens. Most teens have grown up watching the disney movies or their parents have read to them the fairy tales. Therefore this gives teens a clear connection with who’s the villians. TrueTales

Red Rocks is a kiosk branding project designed for the Denver, Colorado airport. I, along with four other designers, helped build this kiosk for Harding Universities Spring Sing weekend and competed with other groups to win this joint project. (Red Rocks Kiosk Designers: Brian Hodges (Logo), Jody Pancoast, Davin J. Alberson, Robert Montgomery, and Ryan T. Baker.

I love art deco and when I was told I was doing the logo, shirt, poster, and program for Harding Univesities annual homecoming play. I was really excited. I was told I could do anything for the poster and I chose to do illustration. Pencil, ink, watercolor, and a little editing in photoshop can make an interesting poster!

The depression posters were designed for a project that focused on teenagers and adults struggling with depression.

for the entire semester and I chose Respect and Manners. These posters are to remind people we lose respect for the elderly as we get older.

These 2 covers where the first projects I ever did in Photoshop and I love them! I was allowed to choose my own topic and I chose the movie Across the Universe. The second cover is to reflect the Time magazine, but also to reflect the layout of my favorite magazine.

I love Anne Rice. When I was assigned to redesign a series of books, I immediately knew what series I was going to choose. The paintings reflect the time period of the main characters in the books, which I believe help define the feeling and the mood of the stories.
