Young Sailor Performance and Coaching Bursaries

Protecting your Rights, Promoting your Interests

‘Performance bursaries’ for promising young sailors up to the age of 19 on Dec. 31st in the year of the award.Applicants should have demonstratedpotential by way of achievements in events such as Youth Nationals, RYA ranking events or by selection for teams representing GBR or the RYA at international level.

The awards are intended to provide modest assistance financially to the sailors on-going participation in such events with awards of £200 each to 2 sailors from each of W. Sussex, E. Sussex and Kent

Protecting your Rights, Promoting your Interests

‘Coaching Bursaries’ to help fund RYA Race Coach Level 2 courses for young sailors up to the age of 23 on Dec 31st in the year of the award. Applicants should have shown the capability and enthusiasm to contribute to the sport of sailing in terms of support to their fellow sailors.

Up to 8 Coaching Bursaries of £100 each will be awarded in 2014 across Kent and W and E Sussex - for participation in a RYA RCL2 course .

Nominations should be made via the form on the Regional section of the RYA web site( search for SE Youth bursaries) and for W Sussex should be submitted to:

For both Performance and Coaching Bursaries applicants should indicate how they will support their local Clubs and Association in future years.

Applications may be made throughout the year but the closing date for applications is October 15th, 2014.
