The system comes as a complete package, skid mounted with all necessary accessories and controls and providing the following benefits:

saves consumables and avoids operational problems in downstream oily water separator

easy to install and easy to handle

worldwide service & support

RWO’s SFU type is able to pre-treat difficult bilge waters and meet individual requirement by a three-stage and fully automatic process consisting of the addition of a special splitting agent, slow oil separation from the water and a filtration unit to remove all particles. Operators can also switch off the oily water separator and use the SFU system as a stand-alone filtration unit only.

SFU – Splitting and Filtration Unit

Changing compositions and concentrations, potential to emulsify and the increasing presence of particles and wastewater in bilge water can make the entire treatment process difficult.

Problems with difficult bilge water will become a thing of the past thanks to the RWO’s special pretreatment system SFU.

FeaturesThe SFU splitting and filtration unit has been developed to support oily water separators whenever

unusual but difficult compositions of bilge water exist. The pre-treatment of the bilge water is

possible either by filtration only or for stable emulsions using an emulsion splitting combined

with downstream filtration. The advance removal of particles and splitting the emulsion in the

bilge water storage tank saves consumables in the downstream oily water separator.

The process of emulsion splitting and particleremoval takes place automatically in three consecutive phases:

addition and mix-in of a defined quantity of splitting agent to the bilge water

settling phase with coalescence processes

reduction of particle concentration by means of filtration
