    Current Situation

    According to IFAC, around 80% of the poor

    people of the Philippines come from rural

    areas

    Agriculture is the primary and often only

    source of income for poor rural people, most

    of whom depend on farming and fishing for

    their livelihoods.

    the productivity and profitability of farming

    and unsustainable practices that have led to

    deforestation and depleted fishing waters.

    Solutions

    Loans will be granted to farmers with the

    maximum amount of P 5000 depending on

    the size of land that they own

    Insurances will also be provided by the

    government

    Rehabilitating the environment

    - Tree planting

    - Monthly shore clean up

    Researches on agriculture and development of

    marine resources funded by the government

    Protection of the land owned by farmers

    Assistance given to the farmers

    1) For those who dont have fund to plant

    crops, the local Department of Agricultureshall provide free crop seeds and fertilizers.

    -This is to be availed only once.

    The farmers can now make use of their land

    by producing and selling crops

    Fishing will be lively again since the

    government is making its moves to protect the

    seas.

    Research will assist in the improvement of

    agriculture and fishing.

    Long term results will be:

    -The farmers are producing enough and high

    quality rice making the Philippines a leading

    exporter of rice and other crops.

    -Tourism will boost and will give employment to

    people from rural area.

    Php 25, 000,000

    Php 12,000,000 will be provided for the

    farming

    Php 7,000,000 will be for the Philippine waters

    Php 3,500,000 for the livelihood programs

    Php 2, 500,000 for research
