RULES AND REGULATIONS

The competition takes place in 4 categories:

ACCORDION

Pre-category: born in 2010 and younger; 5 min. (Free-choice programme with different styles and character). I A category: born in 2008 – 2009; 8 min. (Free choice programme must contain at least two compositions from two different style periods, one of which should be written before the year 1800). I B category: born in 2006 – 2007; 10 min. (Free choice programme must contain at least two compositions from two different style periods, one of which should be written before the year 1800). I C category: (Free bass) born in 2006 – 2007; 10 min. (Free choice programme must contain at least two compositions from two different style periods, one of which should be written before the year 1800 and the second one has to be original composition for accordion). II A category: (Free bass) born in 2004 – 2005; 12 – 15 min. (Free choice programme must contain at least two compositions from two different style periods, one of which should be written before the year 1800 and the second one has to be original composition for accordion). POP / JAZZ

- SOLO (Pop and Jazz singers, jazz and pop piano, trumpet, trombone, saxophone, violin, cello, accordion, jazz and pop drums, pop and jazz

guitar, bass guitar, double bass)

I A category: born in 2006 - 2010; up to 10 min. (at least two compositions of free choice). II A category: born in 2002 - 2005; up to 15 min. (compositions of free choice). III A category: born in 1998 - 2001; up to 20 min. (compositions of free choice). IV category: born in 1997 and older; up to 25 min. (compositions of free choice). In category Solo compositions can be performed on music matrix which has to be send along with the application, or solo composition acappella. Compositions can be either in Macedonian or any other language. The music matrix may not contain the main melody. All music matrixes that will contain the melody will be disqualified. Backing vocals are allowed on the music matrix. In this category jazz and pop compositions can be performed as well as compositions made by the competitor.

- The application has to contain the discipline for which the competitor is applying (pop or jazz).

DUOS

I A category: born in 2006 - 2010; up to 10 min. (at least two compositions of free choice). II A category: born in 2002 - 2005; up to 15 min. (compositions of free choice). III A category: born in 1998 - 2001; up to 20 min. (compositions of free choice). IV category: born in 1997 and older; up to 25 min. (compositions of free choice). Category DUOS includes all combinations of instruments and vocals as well as duos of two vocals. Here can be performed jazz and pop compositions in Macedonian and any other language as well as compositions made by the competitor. In this category compositions can be performed with a music matrix. The music matrix may not contain the main melody. All music matrixes that will contain the melody will be disqualified.

ENSEMBLES – from trio to octet (Combo ensembles)

I A category: born in 2006 - 2010; up to 10 min. (at least two compositions of free choice). II A category: born in 2002 - 2005; up to 15 min. (compositions of free choice). III A category: born in 1998 - 2001; up to 20 min. (compositions of free choice). IV category: born in 1997 and older; up to 25 min. (compositions of free choice). Category ENSEMBLES includes all combinations of instruments and vocals, bends, jazz combo ensembles, vocal ensembles, combined vocal groups and all kinds of ensembles to octet. Jazz and pop compositions in Macedonian or any other language can be performed as well as remixes arranged for the type of the ensemble.

- In category ENSEMBLES at least two compositions of a different style are recommended.

- The application has to contain the discipline for which the competitor is

applying (pop or jazz).

CLASSICAL PERCUSSION INSTRUMENTS

DRUM SET The competitor should perform a written or creative own work (2 – 10 min.) where he can show his technique, style and creativity and sense of rhythm and tempo (groove).
