    GENERAL RULES & REGULATIONS

    Events are open to college students only. All the participants must carry a valid college ID to the events. No restriction on the number of entries unless maximum limit specified in the event

    rules.

    For team events, all the participants must be from the same college. Decision of the judges will be final and binding. The coordinators reserve the right to make required changes in the rules of the events

    and the participants will be informed regarding the same in a timely manner.

    The fee for a particular event will be collected on registration desk set up at the venuebefore the event begins. The fees must be paid before the registration closes for the

    particular event.

    Deadline for online registration is 26thFeb 2014, 11:59 AM except for the event ReelStory, the movie-making event, for which the deadlines are specified in the event

    details. Post that interested students can call on the numbers provided to register

    themselves or register at the day of the event if allowed in the event rules.

    Participation certificates can be collected from the respective event coordinator on thelast day of the Renaissance (3 March 2014).

    Prizes and winner certificates would be awarded during the prize distribution ceremonyon 3 March 2014.

    In case of event clashing, participant has to choose any one.

    Entries for the events can be submitted both online atwww.renaissance.bkschool.org.in and offline by contacting coordinators

    numbers provided on the cover.

    Registration for events with participant limit shall be on a first come first servebasis.

    All participants (post the elimination round) will be awarded a participationcertificate.

    About the Event:Put those brain cogs in motion and battle it out in our Business Quizto be

    called the ultimate and the one and only - Corporate Chanakya.

    Participation Instructions and Rules:

    It is a team event. Each team must consist of 3 members. The quiz will take place in two stages:

    Elimination Round: Elimination round will consist of objective questionsregarding corporate world and current business issues.

    Main Round: Top 6 teams from elimination round will compete in the mainround.

    RoadiezzzAbout the Event: A series of fun outdoor games for those with a heart of a lion and a will of

    steel. Win it to get the bragging rights.

    Snap Champ

    Photography records the gamut of feelings written on the human face, beauty of the earth and

    skies that man has inherited and the wealth and confusion man has created. It is a major force

    in explaining man to man-Edward Steichen

    About the Event:Not everybody with a camera can be called a photographer. Time to find outwho the real deal is. A photography competition which will be a true test of your skills and

    creativity with the camera.

    Participation Instructions and Rules:

    It is an individual event. Theme would be given on the spot. 3 hours of time will be provided to participants for taking photographs based on the theme. No restrictions on the type of camera to be used in competition. Cameras Memory card should be formatted before the event (Will be checked on the spot

    by our coordinators).

    The participant will have to submit 3 photographs on the given theme. No post processing of photos is allowed. Using built-in camera effects are not allowed. The photograph submitted should be in

    unedited form only.

    About the event: -Movie Making gives you the opportunity to express your unique take on life

    and the world around you. Arm yourself with your camera and crew to capture the spirit of

    cinema through the lens.

    Participation Instructions and Rules:

    It is a team event. Maximum 10 members per team can participate and any number of people can appear

    as part of the cast.

    Team members must be college students and belong to the same college. Topic will be given on 23rdFebruary, 2014 at 11:59 PM to all the registered teams. The entries have to be original work of the team and must not infringe any third-partys

    rights. Plagiarized content will lead to disqualification.

    In case of videos, no downloaded content will be entertained. The total running time of the movie should be between 5 minutes to 10 minutes

    including the time for titles and credits.

    The language of the movie must be Hindi or English or Gujarati. The short film has to be submitted on a CD or a DVD. Entries that are of unrecognized video formats shall not be considered. Only .avi and

    .mp4 formats will be permitted.

    The movie must have a minimum resolution of 480p. Before the title, following should be mentioned.

    This movie is made for RENAISSANCE 14 Before the declaration of the topic, prior stock footage if taken will not be entertained.

    Using the stock footage of an earlier date will lead to disqualification.

    Only after the declaration of the topic they can use animation and special effects.

    Being Me

    One of the most appealing aspects of Talent Hunt is that, it is the only dais which brings

    together legends, stars, talents and young mavericks together on the same interactive platform

    like never before.

    About the event: Talent hunt competition for singing, dancing and fashion show.

    Event Date: 1 March 2014

    Event Time: 7:00 PM

    Participation Instructions and Rules:

    Auditions of participants will be done on 28 February 2014, 3:00 PM. Number of entries to be qualified for final performance after the audition will be:

    Dancing (Solo) : 3 Dancing (Group) : 5 Singing (Solo & Duet) : 5 Fashion Show : 5

    Maximum number of participants for the group dance is 10. Number of participants in the fashion show should be a minimum of 8 and a maximum

    of 12.

    Props (if any) will have to be arranged by the participants themselves. Any kind of hazardous/inflammable objects shall not be allowed to be used during

    performance. If used, the team will be disqualified at that very instance.

    Reporting time is 6:00 PM on 1 March 2014. Any late arrival will lead to immediate disqualification. Sound file for the sequence of the final performance must be submitted on

    About the Event: An Extempore style event with a twist. Better be quick on the uptake if you

    plan to win.

    Participation Instructions and Rules:

    It is a solo event. There will be two rounds:

    Elimination Round: It will be a basic extempore. Final Round: This will be a flipback round where you have to speak FOR and

    AGAINST the notion spontaneously when signalled to do so.

    The notion can be a picture, a cartoon, a quote etc. Topics will be given on the spot. Time allotted :

    Elimination Round : 30 seconds to prepare and 2 minutes to speak Final Round : 1 minute to prepare and 3 minutes to speak

    Market Maverick

    About the Event: A competition to test your marketing skills

    Maximum Participants:20 Teams

    Registration Fees:Free

    Participation Instructions and Rules:

    Each team should consist of 3 members. No participant is allowed to use any electronic devices (Mobiles, Tabs, Laptops, etc),

    during the event.

    Parameters for Evaluation will be innovativeness, creativity, content, confidence andteam participation.

    Event will consist of 3 rounds: Elimination Round. Puzzle Round. Rocket Singh Round.{After the 1

    stround, the top 5 teams will qualify for the Round 2 & Round 3 (there

    will be no further eliminations after Round 1)}

    Round 1: It is a Quiz Based Round Each team will be given 20 minutes and will have to answer 30 questions. There will be no negative marking. The top 5 teams will qualify for further rounds.

    Round 2: It is puzzle round. (Details will be provided at the time of event)

    Round 3: It is the Rocket Singh Round wherein the marketing skills of the participants

    will be evaluated.

    Members per team: 7 (5 boys & 2 girls) All rounds up to finals would consist of only one knock-out round. Final round will consist of 3 rounds where the winners shall be decided by the best of

    three tries.

    Minute Battles

    About the Event: 60 seconds to make it or break it. A series of exciting mini-games for everyone

    to participate in and enjoy.

    About the Event: An entertaining event celebrating 100 years of Bollywood. A competition with

    Bollywood as its central theme. Got the Bollywood chaska.?? Then you dont want to miss this

    one.

    Each team shall consist of 2 members.

    The event will consist of four rounds, each involving a competition based on bollywood. Further instructions will be given on the spot.

    Enigma Run

    About the Event: Get ready to begin a journey full of mystery. Participants must solve a series

    of clues at each destination to reach the final destination.

    Participation Instructions and Rules:

    Each team must consist of 4 members. The team must follow a series of clues and move from one destination to the next. The

    team to reach the end destination first, wins the game.

    Game play instructions would be given on the spot.

    About the Event:This event puts to trial your grasp over financial investments. Restructure

    portfolios for individuals to show that money is all you need to make more money.

    Participation Instructions and Rules:

    Each team will comprise of 3 members. There will be two rounds:

    Elimination : Quiz based on financial products Final round: Portfolio restructuring of an individual.

    Top 7 teams from the elimination round will play in the final round. Each team will be provided a separate financial portfolio to work with on the spot.

    Internet facility will be provided for the final round.

    Nukkad Natak

    About the Event:A Nukkad Natak (Street play) is characterized by highly enthusiastic &

    energetic performance so as to attract maximum crowd. Letssee if you can grab everyones

    attention.

    Maximum Participants:8 teams

    Registration Fees: Free

    Registration Closes: 3 March 2014, 11:00 AM

    Participation Instructions and Rules:

    Each team can consist of upto 10 members. Natak can be in English, Hindi or Gujarati. Each team will be given maximum 15 minutes to perform. Teams exceeding time limit shall be disqualified. Teams are allowed to use Dholak, Flute or any instrument of their own choice, with the

    exception of instruments which require electricity to function.

    No method for voice amplification will be provided. Megaphones are allowed and must be arranged by the participants themselves. Any obscenity or profanity will result in disqualification.

    LAN GAMING COMPETITION

    NFS(Time to put the pedal to the metal)

    Maximum Participants:Open

    Registration Fees: Rs.10 per head

    Registration Closes: 3 March 2014, 2 PM

    Participation Instructions and Rules:

    The competition is based on knock-out. Any type of CHEATS & HACKSwill result in immediate disqualification.Players cannot

    use boost cheat (simultaneously pressing accelerator and brake during start to gain

    extra boost). It will be considered as a cheat and will lead to disqualification.

    There will be 2 game modes: Sprint & Circuit. Race track in the game will be given on the spot.

    COUNTER STRIKE: (Shoot to Kill)

    Registration Fees: Rs.50 per team

    Registration Closes: 3 March 2014, 2 PM

    Maximum Participation: 32 teams

    Participation Instructions and Rules:

    Team shall comprise of 5 members from the same college. A coin toss will be used to decide which team shall play as terrorists and counter-

    terrorists first.

    There will be 2 sets of 3 rounds with each round lasting 2 minutes. One set asterrorists, the other as counter-terrorists for each team.

    During the match, all team players should use their nick names and clan tagwhich is stated during the registration procedure.

    In case of a tie, a knife round will be played on different map. Team members should not communicate (speak) when he or she is "dead" in the

    game.

    Map would be made known by the coordinators at the time of the event.
