Message of work performed 1. Presenter’s level of success in delivering a competent and accurate message? 2. Personal style/facial expressions 2. Intensity (dynamism/enthusiasm) 3. Facial expressions appropriate to subject content 3. Vocal factors 4. Tempo of words (speech rate) throughout presentation -Tempo of words at ends of phrases/sentences 5. Rhythmic variety – ‘speaking tone’ vs ‘reading tone’ 6. Volume of voice throughout presentation -Volume of words at ends of phrases/sentences 7. Variety of inflections/pitch/expressiveness 8. Pronunciation (level of correctness of sounds and accents) 9. Enunciation/articulation (shaping of the sounds to avoid muttering) throughout presentation -Enunciation/articulation at ends of phrases/sentences 10. Silent spaces when appropriate between words, and phrases, and sentences 11. Avoidance of disfluencies (“uh,” “like,” “ya know,” etc) 4. Eyes 12. Eye contact with audience 13.
