White Card (7.5 hours) CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry

Course Objective

This course provides learners with the outcomes required to undertake Workplace Health

and Safety (WHS) induction training prior to commencing construction work. The course

requires the learner to demonstrate personal awareness and knowledge of health and

safety legislative requirements in order to work safely and prevent injury of harm to self

and others. The content of this course covers basic principles of hazard identification, risk

management, correct selection of personal protective equipment (PPE) and identifying

procedures for responding to potential incidents and emergencies.

Course Outcome

On successful completion of this course students will be issued with the following:

A statement of attainment for CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the

construction industry (White Card)

White card issued from ATC

Course Content

Identify WHS legislative requirements

Identify construction hazard and control measures

Identify WHS communication and reporting processes

Identify WHS incident response procedures

Identify and use PPE

Course Prerequisites

Ability to read, write, speak and understand basic English

Learners must be a minimum age of 16 years to participate
