How to add an rss feed to a wordpress blog
introductionThis tutorial will show Wordpress users how to add an RSS feed to their blog home page.
descriptionWordPress is a free and open source web application used to create and maintain blogs and content-management systems. Users choose templates to display their content and are then able to change the appearance of the template, including adding RSS feeds. An RSS (Rich Site Summary) feed uses standard web feed formats to publish frequently updated information, such as news stories, blog entries, etc. Many bloggers run topic-relevant RSS feeds on their sites as an added feature for their readers.

instruction1 From the wordpress.com home page, click the My Blog link at the top of the page.
2 Click the Change Appearance link of the blog you would like to change.
3 On the left-hand side of the screen, under Appearance, select Widgets. NOTE: A widget is content that you can add, arrange, and remove from the sidebar of your blog.
4 Locate the RSS widget.
5 Drag and drop the RSS widget to the right of your screen, under the last widget.
6 Name the RSS feed under the Give the feed a title (optional) cell. NOTE: We have chosen to use CDC Flu Updates for our RSS name.

Go to the website you’d like to use in order to obtain the RSS feed address. Then find and clickthe RSS link on the website.
Choose the RSS feed address you would like to add to your blog page, highlight it, then copy it by holding down Ctrl + C on your PC keyboard.

10 Check both the Display item author if available? and Display item date? boxes. This will display both the author name and date of each story on the blog page.
Click the Save button, then click the Close link.
Go to your blog homepage to see the addition of the RSS feed.
Paste the address under the Enter the RSS feed URL here text by holding down Ctrl + V on yourPC keyboard.
