Please narrate, briefly and clearly, the facts as to how the problem for research was identified. It is a complete and logically arranged statement of the objectives of the study specifying briefly the aims and goals of the Project. The elements of work with work involvement by individual scientist should be clearly spelled out. The targets should be identified qualitatively and quantitatively. It is the total scientific man-months required for completion of the proposed study, e.g. if the Project has been envisaged to be completed in two years (24 months) and 3 full-time scientists are required to work, the total man-months would work out to be 24x3=72. The importance of the investigation indicating the economic implications, way in which the farmer community and industry will be benefitted or scientific knowledge advanced. The salary of total staff involved in the Project should be credited to the Project in proportion to his/her involvement in the Project,as spelled out.
